A thread on the future of gamefi, bootstrapping growth and maintaining its player base and ecosystem (sustainability). Will also touch on possible gamefi plays with a few examples
2/x Blockchain Synergy with Games
Games create community and content whereas blockchain gives players direct ownership of their assets, easing the transfer and conversion of assets to digital money. Trade-offs exist in games: target audience, accessibility, platforms, etc.

- Gameplay style: PvE/PvP, Solo / Co-op, Open world

4/x Incentive structure
Dual Fungible tokens: 1x Governance token with hard cap, 1x Reward token as cashflow yield without cap, based on PvE structure, whereby everyone is a winner
Single Fungible token: 1x Governance token with hard cap, involved in stake betting between PvP rds
5/x Bootstrapping Growth for current P2E
The secondary fungible token gets issued to newcomers as they play and progress. High emissions of FT rewards throughout the bull run + huge marketing, attracts newcomers, subsequently increasing the perceived return reflexively.
6/x Sustainability of current P2E
Even with mechanisms to create more value and demand for the secondary token, such as burns, fees and breeding/fusion for new NFTs, eventually the sell pressure will return during cooling off periods.
7/x Possible Solutions on dual token model 1) Issue more governance tokens as rewards, overseeing the game/DAO treasury, as these tokens accrue value over time. 2) Continue to build and create more demand for secondary token + looking for ways to create a supply sink for it.
8/x Alternative: Single token model
Stake betting - both teams/players place their bets and compete in matches over the pooled pot earnings. This maintains the zero-sum game of tokenomics directly on at level of game content of PvP and amongst skill level and ranking of players.
9/ Conclusion: The Right Balance
Sustainable projects derives revenue via providing services such 1) in-game trading , 2) PvP fees, 3) Breeding and other features, while balancing with engaging game content , fulfilling communities' expectations. Possible hybrid model could exist
