Albany County ADA David Rossi is not responding to Lexis's attorney's emails to meet to discuss his case. The ADA's last offer will require Lexis to serve time in prison following probation. As of right now, his next court is Wed, Dec 8th @ 10am 1 Morton Ave.
This is an awful offer and unacceptable that Rossi is not returning emails. Email/call Rossi & demand he does his job, meet with Lexis's lawyers and DROP THE CHARGES David.Rossi@albanycountyny.gov, 518-487-5460 @albanycountyda
Contact DA David Soares, drop the charges. The only violence that happened was at the hands of APD. The DA and ADA seem to have much higher standards for people that protest police brutality than they have for police. david.soares@albanycountyny.gov 518-487-5460 @albanycountyda
#ArchSt began as a peaceful protest honoring Adam Toledo and Daunte Wright, two Black boys murdered by police. It was until Saratoga BLM Chandler Hickenbottom, Lexis's sister, was assaulted by Officer Devin J Anderson after yelling "people over property."
Anderson violently pushed her bullhorn into her mouth before snatching it out of her hands, chipping multiple teeth as blood gushed from her mouth. Following this, protestors were sprayed with expired OC spray while police used excessive force. @albanypolice@albanycountyda
How does an officer assault a black woman and then charge their brother with a crime and push for him to serve time in prison? In a press conference, APD Chief Hawkins admitted if one of his officers had been assaulted on Arch St, there would have been criminal charges.
No charges have been brought up against Devin J Anderson. There has still been no justice for this. #OccupyArchSt
Following a 6 day peaceful encampment, at least 50 APD gives 15 minutes for protestors to leave. Covering their badges and name tags to "eliminate the risk of retaliation and threats from those at the encampment." vimeo.com/540571411
How does DA Soares let his police run rogue with no accountability, no transparency, then attempt to put a Black man in a cage? Lexis was not present at the take down of the encampment.
For hours him and others were trying to find out where his friends and comrades were due to officers refusing to tell people, undercover officers in an unmarked vehicle waited until Lexis was walking to his car and kidnapped him. #Archst
Of the 8 people arrested Lexis is the only person the DA is trying to put in prison. Each charge is up to a 1 yr in jail
3 attempted assaults 4/14 (charges added 3 months later)
2 attempted riots 4/22
Obstruction of govt administration 4/14
Unlawful assembly 4/14 @albanycountyda
Remember, APD Chief Hawkins admitted that if one of his officers were assaulted on #ArchSt, there would have been criminal charges. As you see in the video, the only person/individuals doing the assault was the police. Lexis was not near a single officer. No cops were injured.
What is particularly concerning is that Lexis did not do anything different than any other person at the encampment. Yet APD and DA Soares have seemingly decided to target Lexis with consequences that he did not feel anyone else needed. @albanypolice@albanycountyda
