And it doesn’t matter how the guns are stored or what type or how many guns you own.

Strategies used by Big Tobacco, successors & various controversies: 1) the coal industry & black lung disease, 2) the sugar industry & both cardiovascular & metabolic diseases, 3) the agrochemical business & chemical pollution, and 4) the fossil fuel industry & climate change. /1
They found that all of the industries would use *disinformation* tactics like: 1) gaining support from reputable individuals, 2) misrepresenting data, 3) attacking study designs, 4) using hyperbolic & absolutist language and (of course) 5) trying to influence lawmaking. 2/
Other popular disinfo tactics include 1) manufacturing misleading literature, 2) suppressing incriminating information, 3) host bad faith conferences & seminars, 4) pretend to be defenders of health, 5) abusing credentials and 6) taking advantage of scientific illiteracy. /3
