At the 356th Ordinary Session of the Politburo on 1 December 2021 the President & First Secretary of ZanuPF Cde ED Mnangagwa made changes to the Politburo necessitated by the need to fill vacant posts & the desire to bring in new blood. Image
The changes included appointing Cde Mike Bimha to be substantive head of the Commissariat Department, a position I have held in an Acting capacity since June 2021. During my acting tenure I oversaw some of the following party activities: the restructuring exercise(99% completed); Image
data capturing of cells, branches & Party districts (not yet completed) & hiring the services of ZICOSU Students to do the data capturing; introduction of the Inactive Membership Class to cater for business people, civil servants, teachers, professionals who don't seek positions
... nor want to participate in the day to day activities of the party but support the ethos, values, policies & programmes of the Party; coming up with new requirements for Organisations applying for affiliate status with ZanuPF;
reorganisation of our Diaspora structures; introduction of online recruitment & payment of subscriptions by both local & diaspora members; coming up with the ruling placing administratively, from the Party’s point of view, Caledonia in Mashonaland East Province;
the door to door cell verification in Mutare urban Constituencies of Chikanga-Dangamvura, Mutare Central & Mutasa South by ZanuPF Gutu DCC & Bikita DCC; the dissolution of Party structures in Tembwe 1, Tembwe 2, Samora Machel & Kenneth Kaunda Party districts of Epworth ...
and the subsequent door to door cell verification of same by Chitungwiza Zone 1 DCC; Constituency by Constituency & ward by ward analyses of ZanuPF performances in the 2013 & 2018 Harmonised Elections;
setting up a joint committee chaired by the Commissar & drawing in Ministers from Government led by Minister of Local Government & relevant to urban renewal, restoration of services (refuse collection, rehabilitation of roads, sewerage, water & electricity infrastructure ...
... to cities & towns long neglected by the incompetent & corrupt MDC-ALLIANCE councils); regularisation of illegal settlements in & around some of our cities & towns; preparations towards the holding of Provincial Elections & Elections for National Councils for Women, Youth,
... & League of Veterans of the Liberation Struggle as well as Elections for a new Central Committee; preparations towards the upcoming Parliamentary & Local Authority By-Elections in the first quarter of 2022;
... the setting up of coordination desks at national, provincial & DCC levels to handle the influx into our ranks of those defecting in droves from the MDC Alliance & NPF.Finally I oversaw the restructuring of the Commissariat Department personnel and recruitment.
Taking into account the activities undertaken by the Commississariat Department during my short acting tenure in that department it was my singular & proud moment to spend a good 3 hours on Friday 3 December 2021 with the new National Political Commissar Cde Mike Bimha ...
... in a smooth handover takeover meeting. The Commissariat Department is the engine of the Party & I wish Cde Bimha my unstinting support & all the best.

The event kicked off with Mass celebrated by Fr Nyama at St Simon Stock Church Rusape. Food & testimonials were done at Crocodile Motel which is to your left immediately you cross Rusape river as you travel Harare to Mutare.Attendees were mainly from the extended Mvere family.. Image
