I performed this test on a child with autism in front of the pharmacy today. His mother wanted him tested because "he had a cold". This child has COVID. This child could have infected his whole class had his mother not PAID for this test.

This child could have caused his school to shut down, infections leading to hospitalizations, or worse.
#rapidtests cost around $1 when purchased in bulk, they can save countless lives, and prevent school and business shut downs. We've known this for over a year.

To every decision maker in government that is standing in the way of providing these tests for free to Canadians, I want you to read this carefully: your action/ inaction will cost lives

I'm not sure if people are trolling or they require clarification, so I'm just going to add:
1. Children with special needs and their parents are treated with veneration in my pharmacy.
2. Significance of mentioning that the child had autism is :

people on the spectrum often have a tough time adhering to public health measures like masking so we can't blame them for spreading illness. Parents of children with special needs face enough challenges. Having to drive to a pharmacy, & pay for a test shouldn't be an added burden

More importantly, this child probably contracted this in school. Had these tests been widely available for kids in his class, there's a big chance that he wouldn't have caught it, and a big chance that now him, and his family have to isolate.

Finally, in case it wasn't clear, we shouldn't count on a child with special needs to protect society from COVID, the onus is on the fully capable adults that run our government to follow the advice of thousands of experts that have been howling this for over a year. #FreeTheRATs
