This is a very good proposal and a true victory for those working for labour rights and stronger social protection

At the beginning we were afraid the Commission would legalise a third status of worker that the platforms wanted so much. The platforms thought it would be an opportunity to legalise what they were doing

It's not easy to organise when you're a platform worker, when you're on your bike or in your car, but they managed to do it. They have been stronger than the platform lobby

This model is bad for society as well as workers because of lost tax. It is also creating a crisis for traditional transport companies playing within the rules

🗣️@EFFAT_GS: EFFAT represent many vulnerable workers like domestic workers and restaurant workers

This directive is going to be very important for many of our workers. It's very positive to have a directive on platforms after a very long fight even if there are still issues

🗣️@EFFAT_GS: We should look at this as a first step. We need to ensure workers have full access to social security and that the protections apply to undocumented migrant workers

We also need to ensure new business models will not be created under this directive

Having criteria as the trigger for presumption defeats the point of presumption. The presumption should apply to all workers

We will need an alliance to make sure it is implemented and workers have their rights in their hands. They have waited long enough
