4/8 Extracts:
“While the number of children who are hungry, out of school, abused, living in poverty or forced into marriage is going up, the number of children with access to health care, vaccines, sufficient food and essential services is going down.”
5/8 “…a staggering 100 million additional children are estimated to now be living in multidimensional poverty because of the pandemic, a 10 per cent increase since 2019.”
“… it will take seven to eight years to recover and return to pre-COVID child poverty levels.”
6/8 • >1.6 billion students were out of school
• Mental health conditions affect >13 per cent of adolescents
• Up to 10 million added child marriages … before the end of the decade
• 50 million children suffer from wasting, the most life-threatening form of malnutrition…
7/8 “The number of children in child labour has risen to 160 million worldwide – an increase of 8.4 million children in the last four years. An additional 9 million children are at risk of being pushed into child labour by the end of 2022 ...”
8/8 These organizations (including UNICEF) now talk of ‘inclusivity’, ‘equity’, & ‘building back stronger’.
You don’t build back a dead child stronger. You don’t placate its mother with ‘resilience’.
Is it time to reclaim WHO, & global health, for the people it should serve?

1/4 Lancet article debunking the 'Pandemic of the unvaccinated".
This term was always about denigration and cheap scapegoating, not health.
"(UK)... week 39 and 42, ... 89.821 COVID-19 cases occurred among the fully vaccinated (89.7%), 3.395 among the unvaccinated (3.4%)"
2/4 "The US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) identifies four of the top five counties with the highest percentage of fully vaccinated population (99.9–84.3%) as “high” transmission counties"
3/4 "In Israel a nosocomial outbreak ... involving 16 healthcare workers, 23 exposed patients and two family members. The source was a fully vaccinated COVID-19 patient. (14) vaccinated patients became severely ill or died, the two unvaccinated patients developed mild disease"
2/5 Each cycle since early 2020 – lockdowns, travel restrictions, coerced & mandated vaccination – has further impoverished the majority, further enriched a few.
1/7 As an Australian, I want to write something on the significance of what happened in Melbourne this week, and the destruction of societal values.
About the scenes of black-clad police firing rubber bullets at protestors at the Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne.
2/7 The Shrine of Remembrance is as close as non-Aboriginal Australia comes to a sacred place. It's an unusually moving place of quiet and reflection. Evokes the memory of many who chose to risk death, and died, so that others would be free, not live under totalitarian regimes.
3/7 This was not empty garbage. As a child I knew people who had suffered greatly and survived, an uncle died well before I was born. A family member still had the nightmares 30 years on. As many have, in many countries, in the sufferings of war.
