The accusations are so lurid and so over the top that they feel off to me.
It reads as if it was constructed in response or in conjunction with the release of the Access Hollywood tape, the infamous recording of a lewd conversation between Donald Trump and a reporter.

Shearer's memo emphasizes Trump's mistreatment of women.
"This guy has mental issues with women."
"He is a psychopath. He likes to make the women scream."
4\
There is even "He grabs her." An interesting choice of words in light of the Access Hollywood tape.
5\
There are more graphic details: "a lot of penetration in all forms."
There's licking.
Fingers are stuck in unmentionable places.
All of this is designed to shock.
6\
Jonathan Winer passed Shearer's dossier off to the FBI on October 18, 2016.
11 days after the release of the Access Hollywood tape.
7\
10 days later, Rick Wilson was telling his followers to expect more accusations of "Bad Touch Donnie" abusing women.

To the political operatives, it's the sex stuff that mattered (whether true or not). They know that's type of shocking disclosure interests people. That's the kind of dirt that could potentially swing an election.
9\
Nellie Ohr's research into Trump's business dealings in former Eastern Bloc countries simply wasn't sexy enough.
10\
According to Lee Smith, who saw a May 20th proto-dossier being shopped by Fusion GPS, the extent of the discussion of Trump's sex life was: "Credible anecdotal evidence suggests Trump was at least as interested in meeting Russian women on these trips as inking deals."

From Lee Smith's Plot Against The President:

Steele's 'golden showers' story, while gross and perverted, doesn't rise to the sensational level of the Shearer dossier that was given to the FBI in October 2016. Was Steele's memo further embellished?

Unfortunately, I don't have the answers. Just raising some question.

Someone in a DM pointed out to me an interesting discrepancy between the Simpson/Steele version of the timeline and the Danchenko indictment.
So I did some digging and here's what I found.

According to Glenn Simpson's & Peter Fritsch's book, Crime in Progress, Marc Elias first met with them on April 20, 2016, the day after Donald Trump won the New York primary.
He loved their pitch and agreed to contract with them, but formalizing the agreement took "weeks."

Next: "By the time Fusion decided to turn to Christopher Steele in May 2016, the firm had amassed a mountain of research about Trump's business past..."
The Apocalyptic Vision of Ray Crabtree and the One Man Who Can Save Us
(Can you guess his name?)

I have been recently digging through my collection of fringe, weird and often conspiratorial literature. Most of it amassed prior to 2005.
3\
I have quite a few "End of Days" books, including Apocalypse Culture. It's a collection of essays from various authors on topics about the evils of civilization. The book is more or less a case for an apocalypse.
