According to MarineTraffic AIS data, an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer USS Ross (DDG-71) is currently sailing southeast through Black Sea waters, close to Crimea's coast.
USS Ross arrived in the Ukrainian port of Odesa a few days ago to take part in the SEA BREEZE 21 exercise.
A quick distance measurement through Google Earth shows USS Ross is allegedly located approx. 10km from Sevastopol at this moment.
That is, of course, if the AIS signal is indeed correct, which we cannot take for granted.
According to MarineTraffic, USS Ross suddenly changed its course a short time ago and is currently moving in the opposite direction of Crimea.
