In honor of THE amazing and graceful @NancySinatra being kind enough to connect, I’d love to share my favorite Vercher connection to her late father.
My late father-in-law, John Vercher, was from Hoboken New Jersey. But to teenage Frank, he was little Johnny…

The way the story has been passed down, the Sinatras’ yard backed up to the yard of the Verchers. Frank’s mom would share all stories from the road with Jill, John’s mom, as her son started to play in bigger and bigger venues.
The entire neighborhood was bursting with pride. 2/
And anytime Frank Sinatra played somewhere new and exciting, he brought back a toy or a gift for Johnny.
At first, little toy planes or something simple. As he got more famous, amazing things like a stuffed bear someone made that looked like him.

The Verchers saved everything for years. Eventually they moved to Florida. And young Frankie from the neighborhood - well he became Frank freakin Sinatra.
To this day, we play Sinatra songs (and the @NancySinatra broadcasts on XM) in our home.

Bc that’s how Frank Sinatra was. I never met him, but I’ve seen film clips & interviews w countless stars & musicians. They all say the same thing.
Mr. Sinatra made people feel special. He thought about them.
And he made a multi-generation impact on one family from Hoboken. 💕
