1stly, I was up before the birds to be there and so were many others there, from Wigan, Devon, Leicester and more from Bath. I want to encourage you to go, so here's my account.....

1st impressions in Shrops (apart from the lovely countryside!) are the flags. The union jack & the English flag is flown well above average. BUT I didn't see 1 poster or placard for any other party but the Lib-Dems & they increase the nearer to Wem you get, rallying you on! 4/...

There's lots of support & encouragement on hand & there is a script, but I liked to tell folk I'd driven since the crack of dawn to come and let them know what it's like to have a brilliant Lib-Dem MP & that I was there representing THEIR LOCAL candidate, Helen Morgan. 5/...

The first person I spoke to was a farmer. His wife was swearing in the background, thinking I was conservative. When she heard otherwise, she rushed forward to tell me that they were both voting Lib-Dem. I told them about @LizWebsterLD's support for farmers. Consolidation! 6/...

Next a lady who told me that she's always voted conservative. I wished her well & cont'd. In contrast, her neighbour told me, "We have to get the scumbags out. Most of the neighbours think like that!" Even said they'd be talking to those who didn't. 7/....

1 household had always voted Tory, he army & she NHS. But this time she was undecided. It wasn't so much the NHS for her, but more the recent Tory shanigans. She seems keen to talk to Helen, so I've passed her details on & it would go down well if that happens. 8/...

Another guy told me that he was absolutely appalled with the Govt. He voted Lib-Dem last time and will defnitely be doing so again, but many of those he knew who'd voted Tory were switching just to be rid of this Govt. 10/...

Another former Tory voter was undecided and not very forthcoming about why, but perked up on the issue of if Agriculture was hit it would hit all of the associated industries and that would hit the local economy. He took a leaflet. 11/...

A lovely former tory voter, said she wasn't quite there yet, but pretty sure it would be Helen she was voting for. She was having her lunch so, but her enthusiasm for Helen meant I didn't have to engage her & she told me "You'll win!" 12/...

@SimonPease1 Not sure where the first of these has gone! But I've given a flavour of what happened on the door step. Lovely guy not mentioned told me he was a socialist and like Jeremy... but he's voting for Helen Morgan in this election.
