A virtual meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin kicked off on Dec 15 afternoon (Beijing Time).
Chinese President Xi Jinping said that China and Russia have acted as responsible major countries, becoming the central pillar of practicing multilateralism and safeguarding international equity and justice.
China-Russia trade in Q1-Q3 2021 topped $100 billion for the first time. For the whole year, bilateral trade looks to reach a record high. The all-round practical cooperation between China and Russia has demonstrated tremendous political strengths and huge potential, Xi said.
During the virtual meeting, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia consistently stands against the scheme of politicizing sports.

The resolution titled "Building a peaceful and better world through sport and the Olympic ideal" was adopted on Dec 2 by consensus and co-sponsored by 173 Member States at the UNGA. It calls for the observance of the Olympic Truce for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Beijing 2022
The goal of Olympism is to place sport at the service of the harmonious development of humankind, with a view to promoting a peaceful society concerned with the preservation of human dignity. Sports organizations within the Olympic Movement shall apply political neutrality.
