Full transparency. Can you help us raise $10,000 by midnight to beat Ron DeSantis? Our average donation today is $30.68. Do it for Florida. For democracy.
Back to you nice people. We are a little over an hour in and we just passed the halfway mark!!!! Can you be one of the second 160 people to get us there?
We are painfully close to our goal. And by pain, I mean joy!!! This is so incredible. I may be the only statewide elected Democrat here, but it doesn't feel like it. You clearly have my back.
We're 35 of our average donations tonight away from $10k!!!
You all are the best!!! The first thing I’m going to do when I wake up tomorrow is go through every donation and reply. I love you all and won’t let you down. We have to beat Ron to save our state and our country!!! 💜🙏
Florida’s legislative session was a massive advancement of big government overreach and governing via @FoxNews.
.@GovRonDeSantis chose to sign bills into law to raise costs and taxes on consumers, attack businesses, suppress our voices and votes, and weaken local government's authority — overturning the will of voters in Key West and moving communities backwards on clean energy.
He also vetoed important legislation that passed unanimously to reform our juvenile justice system as well as an initiative to increase youth involvement in government.
Crisis defines character — throughout the pandemic, we've seen @GovRonDeSantis' character revealed.
Opposing a mask order, misleading the public, and ignoring science — his message to Floridians is clear: @realDonaldTrump’s campaign is more important than your health and safety.
.@GovRonDeSantis demonstrates consistently that he has no plan, he's following Donald Trump's plan, and we all know what that means.
During difficult times, he pushes hard decisions to local leaders, unless he doesn't like their decision.
He shows them no respect.
Like Trump, @GovRonDeSantis has ignored and silenced scientific voices — having Florida's Surgeon General removed from a press conference for speaking truthfully about the length of this pandemic.
He's shown that for him, politics comes before science — and before public health.
After nearly 4 months of this pandemic, what is clear is that @GovRonDeSantis is not going to be the leader Florida needs at this time. We are the epicenter of the virus now. Cases continue to rise, ICU beds are nearly at capacity, we are doing no contact tracing.
Florida reopened too soon, not on a plan based on data and keeping residents safe, but on the Governor’s insistence that we had beaten COVID-19. We have not, and we are entering incredibly dangerous territory with no leadership.
It is up to our local leaders, businesses, and us to take responsibility that the Governor won’t. Wear a mask, demand people wear masks in your business, only go out when necessary, avoid crowds, get tested and self isolate when you feel sick.
We also need to invest in clean energy. I’ve proposed energy projects including:
💡$20 million clean energy research center at state university
🚜$5 million farm renewable & energy efficiency projects
🔋$1 million pilot project on utility grid energy storage
