BREAKING: Lafayette LA. Judge Michelle Odinet to seek unpaid leave from the bench. Her attorney says she “humiliated, embarrassed, & sorry for what she has done & the harm she has caused” after a video recorded at her home captured people using the N word. theadvocate.com/acadiana/news/…
The judge initially said that she had a sedative and didn’t remember anything. But if you read the quote from her attorney it sounds like she’s taking responsibility. I asked the attorney, did the judge use the N-word and is she heard on camera using it. He responded, yes & yes.
Now that the judge, according to her attorney, admits she did it, you may be wondering: why won’t she resign? The attorney said: “what happens in the long term is something she is going to think about in the weeks to come.”
CBS News now reporting: “A Louisiana judge is taking a leave of absence after using a racist slur in a video taken in her home, according to her lawyer. After the video surfaced online several days ago, many local leaders called for her resignation.”

The deer has been caught. Waiting to find out if it’s ok 🤞
Update: The deer ran through the front door and up the escalator headed toward the emergency room but was take down by a police officer. I’m told they plan to charge the deer with “going buck wild.” It’s a felony.
