Some HUGE news. I've been hinting and posting little bits of info, and it's time to let the cat out of the bag. I've been working with @aiproenergy to design a six miner (S17/S19) immersion tank. We have five pre-production units on the way to the US now.
Right behind that, we are making a batch of 36 tanks. It's still not the 100% final product, as we deal with global shortages on materials, but it will be fully functional. But now the design is in the very final stages.
The final design is done except the electrical, which we want to integrate as well. We will be offering pre-sale of bare tanks with heat exchangers (no electrical, no dry coolers, no racks) in early January 2022, and begin production on final design right after.
We will have a web form setup very soon, but if you want to get in before that is ready, just email sales@coinheated.com with a quantity of how many you are looking for. Once we have the webform up, all sales will be handled through @aiproenergy.
The first few batches will vary a lot in pricing depending on what is included, so I won't go into details for exactly how much, but the range is between $1500 to $4000 roughly. Yes, that is a big range, but it all depends on options. Target is $3500 or so for a complete tank.
When we reach the final production model, in early 2022, we will also have racking to be able to stack tanks 3 high, so 18 miners in a space that is about 28"x32" or so. I will be more than happy to answer any questions I can either in DMs here, or via sales@coinheated.com
I would not have been able to make so much progress as quickly as I have without the amazing team at @aiproenergy , and we have an excellent working relationship. This is only the tip of the iceberg as to what we will offer.
I've chosen the name of "Hotbox Liu", pronounced "lee-oo", which is Chinese for six, 六. American designed, Russian built, Chinese named. Hope some of these make their way to El Salvador. @nayibbukele, need some solid immersion tanks for your volcano setup?
I've personally tested the Hotbox Liu with S19 Pro 110T's, pushing them to about 150Th/s without missing a beat or overheating. Lots of room to go further for sure. But what makes the Hotbox Liu any different than any other immersion tank?
I threw out the rulebook on tank design (is there one?). Everyone removes all the fans, and flips around hash boards and so on and so forth. I went the polar opposite. I keep two fans on, keep them upright on a standoff I designed, and inside the tank, NO PUMPS.
None, zero, zip, nada. Oil never leaves the tank, and with no pumps, there is zero chance of pump failure. But I wasn't satisfied there. With the amazingly talented @CryptoCloaks, I'm now working on designing my own immersion-ONLY fan.
Most fans operate in oil, but at only 200 to 300 RPM, and doesn't register the signal well on the miner. My design will reduce the load on the motor, allow a faster (but not 6k rpm fast) rotation, while still moving the amount of oil I want.
I have yet to see any tank design even close to what I'm doing with @aiproenergy, and I think our product will speak for itself and be set apart from the rest. No disrespect to the others at all. Without every else's amazing work, I wouldn't have gotten to where we are now.
By default, tanks will be steel, but I'm also working on a sub-model made of stainless steel and one of aluminum, but all exactly the same design. After the Hotbox Liu is in full production, Hotbox Solo and Hotbox Duo will be right after. These are geared for home use.
The Hotbox Solo will be a complete stand-alone unit. Integrated oil-air exchangers, and again, zero pumps. The Hotbox Duo requires an external heat exchanger, or constant supply of cool water. Loop it into your swimming pool and enjoy a warm pool you get paid to heat.
@aiproenergy OK, I'll do a micro-video now of the tank that was the very first concept I did. It doesn't look pretty at all, but functionally, it is identical.... will be in a new post in 3... 2...
Here is the final prototype I'm working on here at my house. Follow along and I'll see if I can get it wrapped up by Sunday. :)

Finally have something fun to share about immersion. This is a side-by-side comparison of two S17+ 76t in the same tank, using nearly identical total power. Why did I do this? Autotune just finished on the left
1) Because I wanted to show exactly what immersion can do, for something as unloved as the S17s. I've also been asked exactly how much efficiency is lost in overclocked. So thanks to the latest available release, @braiins_systems is able to show us what that looks like.
2) So we have two identical miners. Both have been stable for me for a long time, both are in the same physical tank, so, same oil, same cooling, same oil temps. And we can see exactly how well oil does at increasing potential.
