So, let me explain what's going on.
Mercedes & Lewis are angry about the results, BUT going to court means the image of the sports they are part of will be tarnished which is bad for the brands (car manufacturers ) & sponsors,

Mercedes decision to remain silent & not showing at the FIA prize photoshoot is to first show that they don't agree with what happened & also put pressure on the FIA to find a solution regarding the stewards actions,

Mercedes see that even if they can win thought court it would give them a bad image both as a sports team but also as a BRAND.
Lewis as well will feel the same, even they give him his 8th, It would feel wrong to him cuz it was the FIAs fault not Max.

Now that they've found a agreement they are announcing it gradually,

1st - The FIA saying they will analyse it
2nd - Toto & Mercedes using Susie as the one who will bring the news
3rd- Mercedes & Lewis will post official statements.
