thank you for the all the love on my mapo tofu 😖✨
here's the breakdown of the shaders
I hope it helps 🌼 #b3d
1. For the sauce / soup, the basis is glass shader layered with some glossy shaders. You can add more glossy shaders and vary their roughness and ramps to get more detail and variety.
Don't forget to turn on backface culling, ssr, and set blend mode to alpha hashed.
2. The edge glistens on the sauce is achieved using noise texture that's scaled from the center of the soup. The drawback from this technique is that it's static, i.e. the shines won't follow the geometry.
3. here's the rest of the sauce shader, lastly i add some color correction to make it more reddish.
4. Tofu is regular principled shader, layered with glossy shaders. The concept is pretty similar with the soup. I just add noise textures to get some speckles.
5. The rest of the tofu shaders. I added the translucent shader at the end to darken the side of the tofu but i don't think it's necessary.

The s̶e̶c̶r̶e̶t̶ ̶r̶e̶c̶i̶p̶e̶ foundation of this shader is ✨REFLECTIONS✨
most of the fun colors you see on my objects are reflections from HDRI / environment texture + metallic shader + emission
