Let's talk about Artificial Intelligence and Art! If you're unfamiliar--or have a bad taste in your mouth about it--read below for some new perspectives! 👇✨
AI-Collaborative art is a new, blooming genre. This basic premise is that an artificial intelligence and an artist work together, both equally important to the process, to create art that neither could have made alone.
There are several kinds of AI Art, some of which use intricate and skillful coding, some of which use no code from the artist at all. Below is "Cassandra Ex Machina," a piece of mine made with AI & a combo of oil and digital painting--with no specialized tech knowledge required.
Like all new genres, AI art is having it's moment of being considered "not real art." If you don't use your own "skill" to create work, is it truly yours, or is it the AI that is the author?
My answer to this is decisive: Taste is the new Skill. AI augments creativity to remove the barrier of skill from expression. This allows concepts--and taste--to take center stage. Different movements prioritize different aspects of art. AI art prioritizes the conceptual.
For an example of an artist doing beautiful work with AI--as well as a thread that explains the process and benefits of AI collaboration better than I ever could--check out @PasanenJenni. Also recommend @ganbrood for some very unique aesthetics.
Another artist pushing the boundaries of AI art is @Merzmensch. Check out the strange and compelling Nyeshkerh, in which the characters, music, script, voices, language, and visuals are all generated by AI. At 1:05, you can experience an AI created song.
Have a look at @EponymNFT's EpoStories, an AI collaborative project where participants can write a poem, each line being translated into a visual interpretation by the AI. opensea.io/collection/epo…
A platform specifically for AI collaborative art, @braindrops_art, has recently begun. My own art (@ClaireSilver12 ) is there, along with the intricate and living work of @VanArman, the art of brilliant AI pioneer @genekogan, and the distinct, bold storytelling of @xsteenbrugge.
One project that questions collaboration & ownership is @mash_nft--which allows collectors of art to use AI to combine work they own into a new piece. There are a variety of opinions on this--I find it fascinating, and perhaps a new genre in itself
There are organizations of people working to advance utility for creative AI uses everywhere. One that comes to mind is @real_alethea, focused on building intelligent NFTS that can learn, interact, and *create* with you.
Another is @theculturedao, with members from OpenAI, Pixar, Unity, ILM and others attempting to build AI virtual beings for the metaverse. You can learn more about Lucy, a virtual being they've created, here:

There are tools to experiment and play with AI, if you're curious, and I hope you are. You can use these listed below as they are, or as a starting point to paint into, collage, animate, etc--change them as you see fit! 👇
artbreeder.com is a personal favorite. Free and varied, it's great for beginners to explore.
wombo.art is another accessible tool allowing text to art generation.
For those not intimidated by a little tech skill, StyleGAN3 & VQ GAN+CLIP are fascinating.
On the literature front, GPT-3 is leading the way. Imagine feeding a blank AI your favorite books, poems, lyrics--your own diaries-& having it create a full screenplay in return, in your requested genre, exactly to your taste. Try AI Dungeon for a glimpse:
gpt3demo.com/apps/aidungeon…
AI augmented music creation is also just arriving, with OpenAI's Jukebox (openai.com/blog/jukebox/) and Amper (ampermusic.com) leading the way.
All this to say--AI's effect on creativity will be nothing short of transformative. I'm biased, but believe we will come to see it as the discovery of fire. I encourage you to start exploring the possibilities now. You may never have experienced creative play with such freedom.🌟

1/ I am here to let you know that, over the next decade, art might actually save the world.

Our world is becoming progressively digital. It is critically important that this world, the coming metaverse, is open and free and interoperable.

And art might get us there.
2/ But before all that, a brief intro.

I am @punk6529.

I'm known for buying a lot of NFTs and for tweeting about the open metaverse

There are 30+ loooong tweetstorms on this topic here:

a rough game plan here
3/ Also, before we put on the turbochargers, a brief aside on art and NFTs.

My views are very simple: Art can exist in every medium - canvas, marble and, of course, pixels too.

In each medium, there is "important" art, along with a huge tail of art-for-expressive purposes

We are living through an interesting cultural shift. Art, tech, and sociology are meeting to create a moment--and an aesthetic--that's quite new. Lets examine some pieces of what that looks like below 👇
Starting with us: Digital Identity is a blooming concept. Live-motion avatars will soon be how we interact online, and they're better all the time. Here is an @UnrealEngine Metahuman I made of my profile picture--with no code, in about an hour.
Architecture is changing. Michael Hansmeyer's algorithm designed, 3D printed architecture calls to mind baroque cathedrals, strange uncertainty, and a rebellious optimism that is echoed in the art and culture of the digital world at this moment.

Hey everyone. This is me, @beautyandpunk. For those who don’t know me, please simply call me B.
I’m a #cryptopunk claimer, and have been in this space for quite a while, seeing it flourish.
One of the few women OG, I appreciate @artnet’s invitation to such a platform.

Seeing the space evolve, I evolved with it. I became much more than a collector. I am a founder, an advocate, and an artist.
3/
If you want to know more, check out my interview with @henrindf about my journey so far and all that is to come. Both on my future, that of @rise_dao and of all the women we will be able to empower.

The internet killed the yellow pages. Netflix killed Blockbuster.

Will NFTs kill traditional art?

Greetings, my name is @CozomoMedici. What I'm about to share with you may make you angry. You may disagree. But it's crucial you here it.

So buckle up, and let's begin👇
1/ In the last decade, we saw a great shift in entertainment.

For almost 100 years, the studios decided which actors would be lucky or talented enough to become stars.

But then in the 2000's, everything changed.
2/ The cameras turned from focusing on actors, to every day people.

With Reality TV, soon it wasn’t a trained actor who was getting famous, but your classmate, co-worker, or next door neighbor.

For the first time, anyone could become a star. For better or for worse!

But then,
