In the meeting chaired by CM @BSBommai today, Government has decided to impose restrictions on New Year celebrations in order to prevent the spread of Omicron variant of Covid-19. All kinds of large public gatherings and events will be completely banned from 30 Dec to 2 Jan.

However, religious events and prayers in Churches are allowed with strict adherence to Covid appropriate behaviour. Resorts, restaurants, pubs etc. should allow entry of only those people who are fully vaccinated with two doses. Detailed guidelines will be released soon.

Public health and safety is the utmost priority of our government and I appeal to all citizens to follow Covid appropriate behaviour, adhere to guidelines and join hands with government in this battle against the pandemic.
