A Michigan school held a 21 day equity challenge. Some of the examples included: avoid calling America the land of oppurtunity, join a BLM protest, and a white privilege checklist
This was the challenge for “microagressions” which include not asking an Asian or Latino American to teach you words in their native language and being forced to choose male or female

It included this tiktok video on inclusive language which asks people to identify and refer to others based on their bodily functions.
Another slide says not to assume your students’ gender or that they are straight, and to make sure to ask their pronouns.
Twice the training mentions dealing with parents and says not to tell a parent if a student comes out unless the student gives permission. It also offers the option of using different pronouns for parents. This training was advertised to kindergarten teachers.
Washington D.C elementary school gave students an “anti-racism fist book” handbook. The handbook included a worksheet encouraging students to find a family member to accuse of racism.
Another worksheet in the anti-racism handbook given to elementary students says that if a student doesn’t see racism in their life, it means they aren’t paying attention.
White students were taught that they benefit from white privilege and are asked to reflect on white privilege in their lives.
A Pennsylvania teacher hosted a drag show event for students as part of the GSA club. Parents were reportedly not notified. The district has confirmed this morning that the teacher is on leave.
