He got caught lying about the car wreck that left him in a wheelchair, claiming his friend crashed the car and ran away, leaving him in the burning wreck. He said the wreck cost him his position at the Naval Academy. 1/3
Under a deposition, he admitted he was denied entry to the academy before the wreck. He had been driving but decided to hold a "Chinese fire drill" where his friend and he would switch spots while the car was driving down the highway. 2/3
His friend actually pulled him from the burning wreck, saving his life.
