2/ just string together some fancy words, say web3 and wgmi a few times, and mix in whatever hyped up brands the thread author wants to promote

3/ do they actually have anything to do with web3? probably not. but who is to say if everything is just arbitrary corporate and wannabe NFT influencer marketing flooding the space anyway

4/ and that’s the heart of it. With all the hype and so little alpha, how do you tell the difference between prime web3 fashion and some cheap corporate knockoff fake?

here's how 👇

5/ First, we need to see its origin. Trace where it comes from and whether the methods it was made by reinforce or undermine web3 in their practice. That's easier than it sounds. We just need to ask: who can create it?

6/ are the original designers tied up in complex structural and legal limitations owned and controlled by centralised corporate powers , or, is it rooted in open, decentralised systems from the start

7/ Next is who can use it & how can it be used? You might think a skin from Ubisoft or a digital trading card from Nike are cool for all kinds of subjective reasons, but at the end of the day you don’t get to decide how you can use it even if you can buy that content from them.

8/ They do. Even if it’s minted as an NFT, if the rights are closed and you’re limited by corporate control in how you can use it, it's a fake. It's cheap junk pretending to be web3, nothing more.

9/ Even worse when how fake it all is doesn't come out until after you pay, and it wasn't even transparent that you were buying a corporate drop in the first place #justdoit

10/ Why does it matter if corporate NFTs are just fake web3 fashion? And just what kind of game are VCs playing when they pump concentrated capital into fake web3 fashion?

11/ Now that we have the power to verify, record, create, and trade without anyone’s permission directly between each other, peer-2-peer, we can spot the fakes.

12/ We can spot the ambushes. And gain from our own authentic works each time the central control cartels and corporate simps try to pull a fast one.

13/ They will continue to try funding the fake versions of web3 fashion, because that’s what they’ve been doing the entire time.

14/ As much as we wish there were more, the only real web3 fashion protocol that exists today is @DIGITALAX_ because everything that we do actively advances web3 through each interaction.

15/ DIGITALAX is not simply a digital fashion NFT marketplace— that’s not web3. Just letting people mint digital fashion NFTs is boring.

16/ The power is in the true permissionless nature of decentralisation, take that out & it's just collecting trading cards owned by some corporate overlord.

17/ If you want to sell fakes go to Canal street and try some designer bags.

18/ There are countless people with all kinds of intentions that enter the space everyday, thinking that “if only I pump some hype about big ideas and digital knockoffs you can gain attention pretending to stand up for the underserved.”

19/ Look behind the curtain, and if there isn’t a relentless core of actual decentralisation, you know that it is just another distraction. That might be interesting the first few thousand times, but come on guys, enough already. 🤦‍♀️

20/ But wait, there is hope. The real thing actually already exists and you aren’t stuck with corporate fake simps.
