Why the area- Parangimalai in Tamil is called St Thomas Mount in English?
It's actually Bhringimalai
It's the place where Bhringi Munivar, the great devotee of Bagawan Shiva did his penance, hence its Bhringimalai.
Thomas Did Not Visit India
Thomas Mount is Bhringi Malai
St.Thomas Mount in Chennai is assumed to be the place where Thomas was killed and a Church exists there.
But The Hindu tradition has it that it is a Shiva Temple & Bhringi Maharishi lived and did penance there
Nandeeswarar temple is one of those temples in this original
locality belonging to the Hindus. Some even claim that Bagawan Shiva appeared in the form of Nandi (holy bull) to Bringi in this site
The east facing ancient temple is a small one without a tower and flag post. A small Nandi & bali peeth face the main shrine. The Shiva
Linga idol (Nandeeswarar) is big however the idol of Avudai Nayaki, the Goddess, which is located in a separate south facing shrine is not very attractive. The temple has just one prakara. In the parakara the sub shrines of Sundara Vinayaka, Subramanya with his two consorts &
Navagraha are found.
Inside the maha mandapa the idol of Ganesha,Surya & Bhairava are located. Near the entrance of the main shrine the idols of Ganesha and Subramanya are found. The wall surrounding the main shrine has the small Goshta images of Nardana Ganapati, Dakshinamurty,
Vishnu, Durga and Brahma. The idol of Chandikeshwara is found to be big & of ancient period.
Christians have it that since Tamils used to call Foreigners as ‘Parangi, the name Parangi Malai came into use
The fact is that Thomas did not come to India, much less was murd€red by
Hindu Brahmins.
The church is built on the foundations of a Hindu temple, though Ponnu Elizabeth Mathew neglected to mention this fact. The church contains on its altar reredos a famous “bleeding” stone cross said to have been carved by St. Thomas. That St. Thomas has never
been described anywhere as a stone cutter seems to have escaped the writer’s notice, as does the old Palhavi inscription on the carving’s border which identifies it to be of Persian origin. It has been dated to the 8th Century by experts, as have other “St. Thomas” crosses found
in Kerala churches. Crosses were not used by Christians to identify their religion until long after the Council of Nicea in the 4th Century, probably not until the 7th Century.
Another item of interest the article brought to the reader’s attention is the icon of the Virgin Mary
allegedly painted by St. Luke and brought to India by St. Thomas. There are seven of these icons by “St. Luke” distributed around the world, the most famous one being in Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica at Rome. All of them are medieval productions, and the
the most famous one
being in Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica at Rome. All of them are medieval productions, and the idea that they could be associated with either St. Luke or St. Thomas is absurd. Both 1st Century apostles were practicing Jews and fierce iconoclasts. The cult of the Virgin Mary,
like the cult of the cross, is a late development in the evolution of Christian religion.
The protagonists of the St.Thomas tale always forget to put all the accoutrements and accretions of the apostle’s Portuguese legend into a 1st century context
“The allegation that St.Thomas
converted a Mylapore king to Christianity & was then murdered is deeply offensive to Hindus as it implicates Hindus in the assassination of an important Christian saint. The true martyrs of the whole affair were the Hindus who lost their ancient Kapaleeswara temple on the beach
when the Portuguese destroyed Mylapore. The Vatican has stated in a letter to me that the question of whether or not St. Thomas came to India is one for historians to decide.”
This letter was published in The New Indian Express on 16 July 2004, after a reminder had been
sent to the managing editor. He and his chief, blind and stubborn as they are about the implications of spreading the St. Thomas tale, did not want to know anything more about it.

*Democracy in ancient India*
While performing Bhumi Puja for our new Parliament Building, last year our PM mentioned about Uthiramerur. Many of my friends phone me and asked what is that so important to mention.
Here are details.
Uthiramerur (TamilNadu) model of democracy
Uthiramerur is situated in Kancheepuram district, about 90km from Chennai. It has a 1,250-yr history. There are 3 important temples. The 3 temples have a large number of inscriptions, notably those from the reigns of Raja Raja Chola (985-1014 A.D.), his son Rajendra Chola,
and the Vijayanagar emperor Krishnadeva Raya. During the period of Parantaka Chola [907-955 A.D.] The village administration was honed into a perfect system through elections. In fact, inscriptions on temple walls in several parts of Tamil Nadu refer to village assemblies.
I went to Avadi to watch the display of our Tanks other ammunition
Too much crowd for kms & kms
Took a short cut route through back gate & accomplished my mission
May be wrong, but after traveling 1.5 hrs don't want to give miss
All thanks to @major_madhan

Also don't ask me technical questions !!
Another Shiva Bagawan temple
Demolished & Destroyed
Intimated at 3PM & started demolishing @ 4PM saying it's encroaching the canal which is not true!
No one know why they did this hurriedly!
Bagawan here is Swayambu lingam brought from banks of Narmada
With public fund,little
by little they expanded the temple
They also helped 50 other temples around the villages to revive & every day 200 people are being benefitted by Annadhana! Even the b@sterds who demolished ate the Annadhana & started demolishing works!
This temples involvement in social
causes has brought down the missionary & conversion activities not only in this village but all the villages around it & 11 trustees of this temple were running it successfully. So missionaries conversion is on downwards trend!

*I am C@ngress* 😳 na - Khangress
I am Yamraj of Hindus.
Even after kIll!ng 21 lakh Hindus, I gave Rs 65 cr to Pakistan.
Even after dividing on the basis of religion, I put my foot down & insisted on keeping 3.5 crore Muslims in the country.
*I Created a Hindu free Kashmir*
I inserted the word *"secular"* in the constitution later on
I ensured that Hindus became a minority in 8 states.
I prepared a Hindu code bill which was vehemently opposed by Sardar Patel. Later i got it passed to put restrictions on Hindus only
I created Muslim Personal Law
Board & gave them freedom to practice the religion as advised by there holy book, even if it is opposed to the Indian Civil codes
I put the word Muslim in AMU but opposed the use of the word Hindu in BHU.
I complicated the Kashmir problem by Introducing Section 35(A),370 in JK.
Vanniyars - A sect of Hindus are in great rage after #Jaibhim release
They are filing cases after cases on Surya & Producer Jothika
saying they are instigating a hatred between Irular & Vaniyar caste!
But where are all these people when Brahmins were targeted film after
Film in #kollywoodmovie
Even in #JaiBhim a non existent Brahmin character in real story is inserted just to demean the caste
But still we are tolerant
No cases-we leave as passing cloud!
Vanniyars r just a caste in TN
But Brahmins r all over India
Can't all of us get-together
& protest in a intelligent way to counter these of Brahmin hate mongering derogatory films & its associated people!?
Abt the Film:
This film speaks about social equality-Mr & Mrs Suriya did not even take permission from Parvathi, whose life story they have looted without paying
