In August 2015 President Buhari said Nigeria's continual reliance on other countries for military equipment has become "unacceptable" and ordered the Defense Ministry to create a "modest military industrial complex for the local production of weapons.
Here are some of the best defence products that has come out of Nigeria since the 2015 Presidential Directive.

The Chadian Government paid R100 Million as a down payment for these vehicles. The total cost was between R230 Million and R250 Million.
Ezegwu MRAP 2019 iteration. its hull can withstand a 7 kg TNT explosion whilst each wheel can withstand a 12 kg TNT explosion. Unusually, the vehicle has two weapons turrets which can traverse 360 degrees and a telescopic long range camera for improved situational awareness.
Latest iteration of Ezegwu Mrap unveiled at the 2021 Chief of Army Staff Conference in Abuja.
Nigeria's growing military industrial base now delivers many of Nigeria's largest and most complex defence projects, supported by huge investments in workforce skills development. Here are defence project currently in the pipeline.

Journalism, the once noble profession is DEAD in Nigeria. Reporters aspiring for recognition now choose to write about Nigeria's war on terror. They do this because "national security" is a niche area of expertise and the vast majority of Nigerians have no understanding of the
intricacies of counter insurgency. Reporters take advangage of this fact by writing inaccurate stories knowing they will get away with it because the average Nigerian couldnt tell the difference between factual and inaccurate stories. The Editor of PR Nigeria is advocating for
foreign military cooperation because:

The support foreign nations like the U.S and UK have being providing to Nigeria has helped to restore sanity in many local governments and towns, hitherto under the stranglehold of terrorists, in the North East.

Update on the Scramble for Africa:

China is building a multi-purpose naval base in Equatorial Guinea, a move that could jeopardise U.S military ambitions on the Atlantic Ocean. This base will be to to rearm and repair Chinese warships.
China had already built a deep water commercial port in Bata, the biggest city in Equitorial Guinea. China is making a strategic mistake. Its too far away from China and doesn’t even sit along China’s major maritime routes and even its oil.
Beijing is attempting to gain a permanent strategic military base on the Atlantic that threatens the US military posture in West Africa. It could allow the Chinese military to eventually project into both the Atlantic and potentially even get close to America’s shores..

Question of the day :

How long will it take for an air launched missile that has a maximum velocity of 950mph and to hit a target 11 kilometres away?
The arrival of the JF-17 Thunder and subsequently A-29 Super Tucano brought a unique kind of challenge that Boko Haram/ISWAP has not confronted since the insurgency began..a challenge that is existential in nature.

STANDOFF ATTACK CAPABILITY
Standoff precision strike is the ability to attack targets from distances far beyond visual and audio range. Paired with an effective strategy aimed at high value targets, long range precision is one of the most effective tool available to NAF theatre commanders.

History that Deserves to be Remembered :

On this day 28 December 2003, Pyongyang began secret talks with Abuja on strategic defence related issues, and in January 2004 North Korea agreed to share missile technology with Nigeria.
Had this deal goes through, Nigeria would join Libya, Egypt, and Pakistan among countries to have received North Korea's help with missile technology. Sadly Nigeria's VP self sabotaged by leaking the agreement to the media. It would have been less damaging if he said no more.
Rather he went on and on how Nigeria will use this ballistic missile technology for peaceful purposes only, such "peacekeeping".

If the West had chosen to ignore this before, they no longer could. Atiku's statement " to be used for peaceful purposes" suggested implicit guilt"

So Pakistan's Global Industrial and Defence Solution - GIDS recently showcased its new armed UAV, the Shahpar 2 at the Egypt Defence Expo.
The Shahpar 2 is Pakistans new MALE UAV. They are marketing it as a multi-mission UAV capable of targeted strikes. Interesting thing to note is that these systems are all built by state owned enterprises. Not private entities. The government !!
It took them three years to develop this UAV and its available for export. It has a carnad wing design similar to the CH-3 Rainbow. In its surveillance configuration it has a service ceiling of 20,000ft and an endurance of 14 hours.

Over the years Nigeria has been investing in training, advanced weaponry/equipment, and overhauling the military command structure to modernise the armed forces. What you get with this is one of the most "professional" fighting force on the continent. ImageImageImageImage
What Nigeria has not done is become diplomatically more assertive and show a willingness to back up its national interest with demonstrations of its military prowess. Neighbouring countries are watching closely as Nigeria develops asymmetric warfare capabilities.
The powers that be are now seeing Nigeria on equal footing because of its growing army. The army has traditionally been Nigeria’s foundation for asserting power in the region. However the Air Force and Navy are gradually taking on that role.

The 2017 Intervention in Gambia for
