Why “I don’t believe Chinas Covid numbers” is a cop out; a thread:

First caveat; nobody is going to be able to detect all cases of Covid, if your standard is absolute 100% accuracy your standard is ridiculous and no nation is meeting it. That being said examine the problem purely from a logistics perspective

Covid cases that require hospitalization will often need specialized medicines/ therapies. Monoclonal antibodies, mucolytic drugs, oxygen, etc…. When delta was raging through india huge shortages were seen in many of these treatments, with oxygen shortages being chronic

Had the pandemic been raging out of control (but secretly) in China the shortages of Medicines worldwide would be far more accurate, with proportionally large shipments going to China. This hasn’t happened.

In addition to needing these medicines secretly it would also need to ensure that news of the shortages didn’t leak. Logistically speaking; managing to import critical supplies en masse without alerting outsiders is virtually impossible.

Another thing that’s difficult to hide; all the people who would have to be in on the story: imagine somebody dies and their death isn’t recorded or is incorrectly recorded. All /most of their family and friends have to now be in on the scheme as well, without any leaks.

This is for every death, in a raging pandemic in a county of 1.4 billion people there are going to be thousands of deaths daily like we saw in India. The apparatus of state lacks the manpower to treat sick people it’s hiding *and* keep everybody in on the hypothetical coverup.

Next; the Covid cases are going to strain hospital resources. Staff will be facing burnout. If Covid counts in China were being covered up you would need tens of thousands of medical workers and their families in on it as well.

To recap; a rapidly spreading and deadly virus will require resources being allocated to it, manpower being allocated to it, and will involve entire communities. Massive resources would have to be put towards it without any disruptions to medical supply chains, with no leaks.

Now let’s look at the way resources are actually used in China to handle the pandemic;

At the start of the pandemic China created a series of contact tracing apps using websites/ platforms virtually everybody already uses, it then turned them into the most advanced contact tracing systems on the planet

Are you starting to see the pattern? When a handful of cases are detected through random testing, every person who was in contact with the infected person is isolated. Every city mass tests people to prevent transmission. The virus is stamped out.

Given the enormity of the logistics behind handling the pandemic at that level, how do you think that the prc can be doing a coverup? Somehow it locks down and tests entire cities, contact traces everybody *and* can mobilize millions to simultaneously hide the virus?

What’s more is look at the differences; on the 27th the United States had more than half a million positive cases. Half a million! In the last 3 days we had roughly as many deaths as China had in the entire pandemic

In order for China to match the last *week* of cases and deaths in America it would need roughly 15x the cases and double the deaths. Good luck hiding over 1.5 million cases, the medications theyd be taking, the bodies from the families, etc… without anybody finding out

This is why that argument is a cop out; in order for China to match just this last week in cases and deaths as part of a coverup we have to assume it can somehow move mountains logistically, but simultaneously not use any of that to actually fight the pandemic

We only think this way because we’re so used to seeing our government do that. Itll spend trillions on wars while letting us suffer and die, and then have the audacity to charge us a fortune for the honor of dying in a crowded ER and being thrown into a mass grave. Thread over.

How do you hide these imports? There are international bodies which track this.

I know I said thread over, but I just checked US numbers.

543,000 on tuesday, 380,000 wednesday, and about 489,000 today as of my checking this. This is about 1.4 million cases in the last 3 days, or about 1/200 people in the country before new years celebrations
