Tiger Woods turns 46 today. To celebrate, here are some of his most ridiculous statistics (a thread)…
Best score to par in majors, 1997-2009 (min. 70 rounds)

Tiger Woods, -134
Phil Mickelson, +99
Ernie Els, +118

Phil was the only player within 250 strokes of Woods.
In the last 60 years, there are 3 instances of a player winning 5 (or more) PGA Tour starts in a row.

They belong to: Tiger Woods (7), Tiger Woods (6) and Tiger Woods (5).
Tiger is the only player since 1950 to win the same PGA Tour event four years in a row.

He’s done it twice (Buick Invitational 2005-08, Bay Hill 2000-03).
Tiger Woods has won 7 majors by 3 shots or more (most all-time).

The last player before Woods to reach the career milestone of 7 majors won (total) in men’s golf was Tom Watson in 1982.
From 2004-06, Tiger had 1,466 putts from 3 feet and in measured by ShotLink.

He missed three of them.
Incredibly, Tiger won his 100th, 200th and 300th official starts on the PGA Tour.

100th – 2000 WGC Invitational
200th – 2006 Buick Invitational
300th – 2013 Players Championship
Tiger Woods is credited with 41 career European Tour wins, third-most all-time. He has never played full-time on that tour.
Tiger Woods is the only player currently under the age of 50 with 25 or more PGA Tour wins.

Woods won his 25th PGA Tour title more than 20 years ago (2001 at Bay Hill).
Tiger has 15 PGA Tour wins, including 4 major victories, in the month of August alone in his career.

The only player besides Woods with 4 majors + 15 total PGA Tour wins who is currently under age 50 is Rory McIlroy.
Across Tiger's 82 PGA Tour wins, fellow competitors in those events have been born from a span of 1922 (Doug Ford, 1997 Masters) to 1999 (Devon Bling, 2019 Zozo Championship).
From the 1999 PGA through the 2001 Masters, Tiger’s finishes in the majors:
W
5th
W
W
W
W

In that span he had 5 major wins, and only 4 players finished ahead of him, combined.
Most Strokes Gained Total in span
Tiger Woods, 115.7
David Duval, 56.5
Ernie Els, 55.2
Phil Mickelson, 50.7
Win percentage by outright 54-hole leader on PGA Tour

PGA Tour in 2021: 26.7%
PGA Tour last 10 seasons: 42.4%
Tiger Woods: 95.7% (44-for-46)
During the entire 2000 PGA Tour season, Tiger Woods recorded one round higher than 73. It came in the first round of the Masters.

He shot 75, on a day when the field averaged 75.59.
In a stretch from the 1999 Deutsche Bank through the 2001 Memorial, Tiger in official worldwide events:

46 starts
23 wins
Combined margin of victory: 79 shots
5 major wins in 8 starts, including 4 straight
11 wins by 3+ shots
...6 finishes outside top-10
There are 3 instances in PGA Tour history of a player winning 8 or more times at the same course.

They belong to Tiger Woods (Bay Hill), Tiger Woods (Firestone) and Tiger Woods (Torrey Pines).
There are only two instances since 1900 of a player winning a men's professional major by 10 strokes or more.

Tiger has both of them, and they were both by 12+ (1997 Masters, 2000 U.S. Open).
Over the last 10 seasons, players with a 3+ shot lead entering the final round of a PGA TOUR event have gone on to win 61.7% of the time.

Woods is 25-for-25 in those situations in his career.

I usually post these (while adding a few new ones) every year on Tiger Woods' birthday, but who wants to wait that long when we're going to see him back on the course Thursday?

Here's a thread of some of the most insane Tiger on-course stats in his historic career --
Scottie Scheffler finished the 2022-23 PGA Tour season with an adjusted scoring average of 68.63, the 7th-best single season mark of all-time.

Tiger Woods has the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th best.
From 1997 through 2009, there were 52 players with 100 or more rounds in major championships.

Best cumulative score to par in that group:
Tiger Woods, -134
Phil Mickelson, +99
Ernie Els, +118

Every other player in the group was 275+ shots behind Woods.
