Here you are, thanks to the internet , the thing that connects you to the world.
But internet as you know is changing, it is now giving way to new version called web 3.0.
and while some believe this might be a game changer, there is something to disagree too(1/n)
But what exactly is web 3.0?
it will be a third version or evolution of world wide web.
And everyone is talking about it because they believe it will revolutionise the web.
umm, how? (2/n)
web 1.0, the first version of the internet was very basic.
It introduced us to the magical world of the internet, where we could access all kinds of information.
However if you wanted to share knowledge and thoughts, you had to know how to develop websites.
(3/n)
Web 2.0, the current version you're using changed that. You can now easily create content.
We have to thank the tech giants @Google@Twitter@amazon@awscloud@Meta@Azure for this
But.... (4/n)
Web 2.0 came with it's own problems, it concentrated power in the hands of few. And big tech took advantage of that.
In exchange for allowing us to create on the internet, they took our data to show us ads and earned millions.
But people have had enough... (5/n)
People want to reclaim their power from big tech companies
Here's where web 3.0 comes in.
This will be a Decentralised version of the internet , where no one company will have the authority.
how will it be possible? (6/n)
The new web will be built on block chains, that secure data.
And for contributing data, you will be paid in tokens or crypto.
but what is it that is against this idea?
well, it is all talk and no execution.
And there is one more serious issue... (7/n)
Venture capitalists have already entered the web 3.0 space and invested massively.
Their large stake in web 3.0 initiatives gives them an edge over us. So, with them having more control, web3 is not really decentralised. (8/n)
But atleast the structure gives us some fighting chance, some scope to reclaim power. That's a start, no?
Do you believe that web 3.0 can actually revolutionise our lives?
