the door and found three uniformed men from law enforcement standing. They said, “Sir, you’ve to come with us”. When my father asked the reason, they said they were only fulfilling the responsibility assigned to them, they had no other clue. My father asked for time to take

his medicines (he had diabetes, high BP and other diseases) and to change clothes but they refused. They didn’t have a warrant still picked up my father. Before leaving with them, my father told us not to be afraid and to put complete trust on Allah. My mother was looking

at me and my brother silently. My brother was looking nervous, so was my sister-in-law who was 21 weeks pregnant with their first child. I recalled one of my father’s colleagues had been picked up the same way months ago and later his family found him in Kashimpur Central Jail

without trial. We informed our close relatives immediately who had good relation with the senior administration of law enforcement. I told my brother not to worry as our father had never done anything wrong or bowed down to any injustice. I was confused as to whether or not

to join my first day office. Then I remembered my father never compromised with his work. I walked into the office smiling, completed my first day’s work when I had endless unwanted thoughts.
Alhamdulillah, by the grace of Almighty, I got my father back in the afternoon. They

took him to their office where they interrogated him. They asked him a number of questions that he had no idea about. They tried to frame my father in political cases showing photoshopped photos of him. They tried to persuade him to accept whatever they accused but he denied.

They were not quite ready to return my father in fact they attempted to shift him another location when got phone calls from senior administration in favor of my father.
I strongly believe that it’s only Allah Who saved my father and my family that day because I know few other

families who had connections with law enforcement but couldn’t get back their loved ones after being picked up or framed in false cases. They are not as lucky as me. They are still waiting for their dear ones.
