The citation for Joanna Lumley’s damehood is “for services to drama, to entertainment and to charitable causes”. She was a trustee of #gardenbridge trust which was wound up after incurring £43 million bill picked up by public purse without delivering anything to show for it.
Needless to say the official Cabinet Office blurb about Joanna Lumley's damehood does not mention #gardenbridge
A second figure associated with the Garden Bridge project - landscape designer Dan Pearson - is also in the New Year Honours, with an OBE.
