Interesting most #pos#dpos networks actively encourage vote buying & a race to the bottom (almost all of them) - block production is somewhat of a commodity but having it centralized and a networks direction/security being in the hands of the "cheapest" vendors is strange..? 😅
Think about it, as a stakeholder of eg. apple would you want a board be made up of random people that gives back their salary to the shareholders (effectively just taking no pay) or people that are qualified and vested in making the right decisions to grow apple stock price
most #pos and #dpos networks often have no other mechanism for adjusting pay to be fair but not exorbitant. Vote buying is effectively a refund on excessive pay. It works okish for that but is pointless exercise that results in lowest cost and not best consensus leaders.
Telos $TLOS simply adjusts the pay (soon automatically) so it's always fair but never excessive enough to make vote buying interesting for either Validators or stakeholders. Everyone wins because the most trusted, aligned and value adding consensus leaders are voted in.
Actually being generous in saying it works okish - probably poor is a fair assessment - it usually means the validators don't get any compensation at all or the people votong for the best/most trusted validators get diluted for thinking of networks best interest
The irony is telos still runs it's network cheaper then most/all networks just without the illusion earning by voting
