As blockchains start to modularize, a lot of new terms are thrown around. Here's a glossary to get acquainted with them!

Monolithic blockchains - All security, data availability, and execution is on a singular L1
Rollup - Rollups only execute and rely on a different chain for security and data availability
Validium - a ZK rollup that has data availability from another chain
Volition - a ZK rollup that has both rollup and validium modes, with DA on two separate chains
Adamantium - subset of Volitions with user-provided data availability
Multi-Volition - Volitions with an arbitrary number of chains for DA
Volition-like Monolithic - Monolithic chains that use other chains for DA while still maintaining their own consensus
Security - Just consensus and minimal data layer that hosts state transitions and proofs from execution chains
Data Availability - L1s with no execution layers, focused on data for other chains. Require their own consensus mechanisms for data verification
