Just did a full routine for the first time using SKN by LH and I'm not mad at it! (Don't worry i filmed it)
The Goji Berry Cleanser is a really nice gel cleanser. It doesn't foam up too much which I don't mind. It removed my concealer really easily and my skin didn't feel super dry after. Little to no fragrant smell either

I would give it a 10/10 for my first impression
My favorite product I think is the white tea toner. The mist is AWESOME. Super hydrating and made my skin GLOW. Little to no fragrant smell

Its basically a rose water toner with niacinamide, fruit extract, aloe, sodium PCA, hyaluronic acid, glycerin, panthenol and white tea
If I were to recommend one product, I would get the toner. I'm obsessed with it.

The amount of humectants is *chefs kiss*
The Vitamin C Serum is nice too. It uses Ascorbyl Glucoside which is a derivative of vitamin c. It also has niacinamide, aloe, bamboo (my fav), centella asiatica, hyaluronic acid and vitamin e
It's lightweight gel consistency. Little to no fragrant smell. Makes your skin very glowy.

If vitamin c serums with ascorbic acid tend to irritate you, I would try this one since it uses a derivative and a lot of other soothing ingredients
As far as correction, I wouldn't completely rely on the vitamin c product to treat severe hyperpigmentation (or ANY in general tbh)

It will give you brightness and glowy skin but I would still go with heavy hitters like cysteamine or hydroquinone if you want something serious
The vitamin c is something you can use 2x a day with no issue for overall brightness and hydration. I like it! 8/10
The peptide eye complex is an eh for me.

In general, I find eye creams are a hit or miss because I find that a lot of people likely need to get undereye filler for the results they want.
The product has a cooling metal tip which is great for depuffing.

It contains niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, panthenol, algae, jojoba oil, shea butter, vitamin c and peptides.

I think its great for overall brightness and hydration but keep your expectations realistic
I would reach for it as prep for makeup but I know I need undereye filler for these bags!
As for the moisturizer aka The Niacinamide Cream, I would recommend it for oily skin.

It's also the most fragrant out of the collection (light fruity smell) and contains a few essential oils so I would keep that in mind if you're someone who's sensitive to that.
The Niacinamide Cream contains niacinamide (which helps brighten and reduces oil production), vitamin c, hyaluronic acid, vitamin e and some botanical extracts.

It wasn't rich enough for my dry peeling skin so I will be adding Cerave Healing Ointment on areas like my nose
My biggest complaint with the collection is the packaging. The blue color is beautiful but it all looks the same so its kind of confusing to know what's what.

Also the white text and light blue packaging isnt enough contrast and can be hard to read especially in certain lighting
In regards to marketing, I do wish there was more education regarding the ingredients because I do think the products are pretty nice but it hasn't been translated well
Not everyone is an esthetician or skincare guru so plenty of people don't know what ingredients like niacinamide do
It's also not really clear what the GOAL of each product is.

Is the cleanser supposed to be a great makeup remover? Is the toner supposed to hydrate and soothe? Is the vitamin c serum supposed to brighten? Does the cream help with oil regulation?
I've come to those conclusions on my own but without having my background knowledge I would be confused as to what my expectations are to be with each product
As far as first impressions go, I do like the products!

I think the best ones out of the line are the toner and the cleanser.
I've tried a few celebrity skincare lines and I'm not mad at this one at all.

I will say it is kinda boring for me though. There's no strong actives like exfoliants or enzymes which is what the girls want :( maybe next launch
Those are all of my thoughts <3

I will hopefully have the video I filmed edited and uploaded by tomorrow
In regards to shipping, I ordered the line on January 2nd and it 3 days later 🤯

It DID arrive looking a little rough tho. I posted an unboxing on IG and Lori messaged me on the brand account apologizing & will send me a replacement because she’s switching fulfillment centers
Here’s the message Image
Since I have extra I’ll probably do a giveaway!

RT this if that’s something you would want ❤️
So I did some extra research and in an interview with Vogue Lori explains that she actually deals with ROSACEA.

Which makes sense because the skincare line is very sensitive skin friendly!

Here’s what I recommended getting:
One of the FEW Mineral sunscreen I stand by is the Suntique I’m Safe for Sensitive Skin. It’s titanium dioxide based. No zinc.

The cast is very minimal. It also has calming ingredients like centella asiatica and aloe leaf extracts. ImageImage
Acwell Licorice pH Balancing Advance Serum

It has licorice, glutathione and niacinamide to even out pigmentation in the skin to help acne scars and dark spots fade over time.

It also has Pycnogenol to draw in hydration and minimize fine lines ImageImage

thread of my favorite skin products of 2020. things I’ve liked for me + my clients 🤩
faded by @topicals - one of the BEST serums for hyperpigmentation (acne marks/melasma/sun spots). it uses a blend of ingredients that effect different pathways in melanin formation to target hyperpigmentation. i recommend using it as a spot treatment with a q-tip ImageImage
I recommend using it as a q-tip on your dark spots because if you dry yourself out with overuse (some of the ingredients do exfoliate), it’ll only be in the spots vs. all over. You also save on product

I’ve been using the Fenty Skin products for about a month now. Read this thread before making a purchase
First off, I would like to say a huge thank you to @fentyskin for letting me try the products! The Fenty team has always been so supportive of me when it comes to makeup, so I feel very honored that I get to try Fenty SKINCARE now 🤩 support black women in skincare all 2020
Next, ALL of the Fenty Skin products have fragrance. It’s a floral sweet smell. You will notice it. This can be problematic for some. Fragrance sensitizes the skin due to it volatile properties (even in small amounts), which is why it’s the #1 cause of contact dermatitis.

I tweet for the black girls scared to wear shorts in the summer because of their dark knees, who won’t wear a bathing suit because of a dark bikini line, refuse to raise their hand in class because of dark underarms...

These things are very normal and don’t need to be “fixed”
I’m literally an entire esthetician who helps people with their skin for a living, please don’t tell me about hyperpigmentation 🤦🏽‍♀️ Some things can be corrected, and some just need to be accepted.
And yes, some things like shaving, ingrown hairs, (maybe deodorant), whatever can exacerbate the appearance. But y’all, we’ve had these things since we were KIDS. It’s how we look and that’s fine!

Treating hyperpigmentation (or “dark spots,” “acne marks”) ✨

There are other ingredients that are great for hyperpigmentation, but in this thread I’ll just be talking about these nine
Niacinamide: Treats hyperpigmentation by acting as a protease inhibitor by stopping melanosomes (melanin) from being transferred to keratinocytes (skin cells) which results in visible hyperpigmentation.
Niacinamide also improves barrier function and reduces oil production. Some people have poor reactions to niacin (flushing, breakouts)
