👑Andrew Rosindell represents the Romford constituency in parliament.
Today, he asked ministers if they'd push Britain's public broadcasters to play God Save the Queen at the end of every day for the monarch’s platinum jubilee.
🗣️ He told parliament: "I know the minister will agree that the singing of the national anthem is something that provides stability and pride in our nation".
👑The Conservative MP's suggestion was welcomed by culture secretary Nadine Dorries, who called it a "fantastic question".
💻But Mr Rosindell’s request has been ridiculed online, with Twitter users demanding he get his priorities sorted amidst the pandemic 😷
🗨️Writer Otto English said: "160,000 British people dead, 200,000 omicron cases a day - and the ruling party are concentrating their efforts on bringing back the national anthem on the BBC.”
🇬🇧Mr Rosindell is a fervent Eurosceptic and is chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Flags & Heraldry Committee.
👑The BBC already plays the national anthem at the end of every day on Radio 4 📻
Do you think public broadcasters should play the national anthem every day for the Queen's platinum jubilee?
