MUCHUKUNDA becomes Senapati of Devatas. The fight goes on for many years, till Karthikeya comes as Senapati to devatas. After the devatas get their senapati, MUCHUKUNDA gets ready to go back to his kingdom. Indra then says ,it has been thousands of years since you came here,
And your progeny may not even be able to recognise you. Indra seeing the sad MUCHUKUNDA, asks him to ask anything, and he asks for moksha. Indra says he is not in power to grant moksha, and in Dwapara, Vishnu will grant him Moksha. MUCHUKUNDA then says , I am extremely tired of
All the war, and I haven't slept at all. Grant me a boon of sleep , Where I am constantly in japa of maha Vishnu ( SUSHUPTHA JAPA), and whoever wakes me up, would be burnt to ashes. Indra shows him a cave on a hill, and grants him the boon. MUCHUKUNDA goes into deep slumber. In +
Dwapara Yuga, Vishnu takes the avatara of Srikrishna. Jarasandha, wages war on Dwaraka many times, and gets defeated. He takes the help of KALAYAVANA, who has a boon of invincibility in battle and surrounds Dwaraka. Krishna flees seeing KALAYAVANA, and he chases Krishna. Krishna
Reaches the hill, where MUCHUKUNDA is sleeping, enters the cave, and puts his angavastra on him. Mistaking MUCHUKUNDA for krishna, KALAYAVANA kicks him, and as MUCHUKUNDA opens his eyes, he gets burnt to ashes. On seeing Krishna, he recognises him as vishnu, and bows to him +

Immediately Waking up, the whole period of sleep is counted as Japa. This is called SUSHUPTA JAPA.
