So using Google Earth data and emergency radio chatter analyzed by @JenBrownColo and @JesseAPaul, I made a video to illustrate those first hours in a graspable way.

For dataviz nerds: got some great feedback from Redditors.

If I did it all over:

> add an overhead minimap tracking the "camera"
> running timeline and other ways to indicate time elapsed
> A final zoom-out for context
