I remember when they built the field hospital in Central Park. There’s something really weird about knowing you’re in the center of a crisis, that the hospital they’re interviewing people in front of is the hospital you had your children in.

Much of the coverage that’s not outright cynical is also failing to meet the moment. The NY Times published a map that shows a “predicted decline in legal abortions.” Antiseptic language like that does not serve the reader.
