ZEC Press address: ZEC chairperson Justice Chigumba says Mobile blitz registration was postponed to allow for prospective registrants to get registration documents. Nomination court will be on the 26th of January 2022 & By-Elections on the 26th March 2022.

Nomination forms are available on the @ZECzim. It is possible to file your nomination papers in advance and can be done at district offices. Those interested in conducting voter education should apply to @ZECzim

Mobile voter registration will be done in two phases. First phase from 1st to the 28th of February 2022 then second phase from 11th to the 30th of April 2022. Those who wish to observe voter registration should apply for accreditation. Covid-19 protocols will be adhered to.

Media should disseminate accurate information to allow people to make informed decision. Responding to a question from Nqobile Tshili from Chronicle on what @zeczim is doing to address loss of constituencies Justice Chigumba says ZEC will be rolling out mobile voter registration.

Justice Chigumba says one's name is not automatically added to the voters roll when one registers. There is verification that needs to be done first such as checking I.D and double registrants.

After the April 2022 voter registration blitz, the voters roll will then be cleaned for the purpose of the delimitation process. Registration will continue after April at the ZEC district offices.

The electoral act stipulates that the voters roll is closed two days after the proclamation date of an election. Safest period to register to vote if one wants to vote in 2023 is between today and August 2022 as no one knows when the president will proclaim the 2023 elections.
