Since we're all talking about the floor speech from Arizona's senior senator, here's a handful of bills that have been introduced in the Arizona legislature this week, mostly in the past 24 hours:
To be clear--this is only a fraction of the voting/election bills and the Republican majority in the Arizona legislature is razor-thin. If/when these bills pass, it will be on a bare-majority, party-line vote. No supermajority required.
The idea that a 60-vote threshold in the Senate is necessary to "protect our democracy" is simply not based in fact.
A senator from Arizona would know this by simply looking at what has happened in Arizona over the past couple years. Or the past couple days.
