HOW TO RECOGNIZE THE VOICE OFTHE HOLY SPIRIT AND BE HIS FRIEND - A thread🧵

I have gotten asked this so many times so I finally decided to make it into a thread so everybody can learn from it.

Step 1- Realize that He's always speaking. We are the ones that need to pause and listen. After praying, don't be in a hurry to run off. In a conversation, two people are talking. You have spoken. Now let him speak back.

Step 2- Document!

Write down whatever you hear or think you heard during your prayer and study time. No matter how silly it may seem. Even if it doesn't make sense. Even if you think they're just your thoughts. Write!

One thing with God, he will always confirm his word.

Step 3- Ask Him about the most mundane things.

"Holy Spirit, what color of shirt should I wear today?"

"Holy Spirit, please help me find my car keys"

"Holy Spirit, should I take an umbrella out today?"

Ask and listen. It sounds crazy but he will actually answer you!

Step 4- Spend time with Him.

The same way you can recognize the voice of your parent or sibling anywhere, you can learn to recognize his voice too!

The more time you spend with him, the easier it becomes.

Be intentional. Plan dates with the Holy Spirit. Just you and him ❤️

Step 5- PRACTICE!

Learning ANYTHING takes consistency. If you do it over and over again, it will become second nature to you. Repeat these steps over and over until it becomes a natural part of your day and you don't even have to think about it anymore.

BONUS TIP- When you read your Bible, you know that tiny voice that explains the word of God to you in your heart? That's his voice.
