Do you know! Why do people offer mustard oil to Shani Dev ?

Hindus all across the world are familiar with the act of oil Abhishekam on idols of Shanidev on Saturdays.

But many people don’t know the reason behind it. Here’s a short story which sheds some light on this.
As per Epic Ramayan when the bridge was constructed from Rameswaram to Lanka by Prabhu Shree Ram’s army, Hanuman Ji had the responsibility to look after the bridge in case the enemies damage it

One day, when Hanuman ji sat under a tree and offered prayers to Prabhu Ram,
Shani Dev approached him and said, that he is the most powerful God. He added that he has heard that Hanuman ji is also very powerful, so he wanted to test his might with Him. He asked Hanuman ji to open his eyes and fight with him

In response Hanuman ji opened his eyes and said
“Now, I am meditating on my Prabhu, I request you not to disturb me in my prayers”

But, Shani Dev was resolute to pick a fight. Hence, Hanuman Ji extended his tail and bind it around Shani Dev. He tightened his tail and Shani Dev felt the stiff hold around him.
Shani Dev tried get free from that tight hold, but he was not able to. Hanuman ji then waved his tail up and down that was hitting Shani Dev on the stones. He started bleeding.

When the pain became intolerable, Shani Dev requested Hanuman Ji to release him from his grip
He also added that he would never do a same mistake again

Hanuman ji asked Shani Dev to promise him that he shall never cause problems to Shree Ram’s devotees.Shani Dev promised that he will do the same.He would never hinder in the destiny of Prabhu Ram’s and Hanuman’s devotees
Hanuman then loosened his tail’s hold and freed Shani Dev.

After Shani Dev became free, he requested Hanuman Ji to give him some oil to ease his miserable pain. Then Hanuman ji offered him some mustard oil.

After that oil massage on his body, the pain was calmed instantly.
Since then, it has become customary to offer mustard oil to Shani Dev. It soothes his body pain. He feels pleased and this makes him kind towards Prabhu Ram’s and Hanuman Ji’s devotees.

Jai Shree Ram 🙏🏻🚩
Jai-Jai Hanuman Ji 🙏🏻🚩

Why Mahaprabhu Balaji’s Eyes are Covered?

Mahaprabhu’s idol wears a white mark (Thirunamam) on the forehead which is so big that it covers his eyes. Thus, the devotees can see only a small part of Prabhu’s eyes while the rest is covered. Image
There is a significant reason, why this is the procedure of the temple.

There are several miraculous facts associated with the idol of Mahaprabhu which tell us how powerful Mahaprabhu is.

The gaze coming out of the eyes of the idol cannot be tolerated by a normal human
and hence they are covered to reduce the effect.

It is believed that the Prabhu's eyes carry immense supernatural light that may not suit everyone.

Since the devotees cannot withstand the powerful radiation emanating from the eyes of Prabhu

Rig Veda 1.35.9 10.22.14, 10.149.1, and more verses describe about the sun and its orbit and how planets move around the sun due to its attraction.

Vedas composed thousands of years before ‘Copernicus’. Yet why no credit to ancient Indian texts?
Rig Veda 1.35.9
“The sun moves in its own orbit but holding earth and other heavenly bodies in a manner that they do not collide with each other through force of attraction.
Rig Veda 10.22.14
“This earth is devoid of hands and legs, yet it moves ahead. All the objects over the earth also move with it. It moves around the sun.”

VINAYAKI : The female avatar of Bhagwan Shree Ganesh 🙏🏻🚩

GODDESS VINAYAKI Or Ganeshani is the feminine form of Shree Ganesh. She is the 'Mistress of Obstacles'. Vinayaki is also known as Gajanani, Ganeshwari Gajamukhi or Vigneshwari. Image
Matrika :-

Matrikas are the Shakti or energy which is the epitome of motherly virtues.

In the Devi Purana and some Upapuranas, Gananayika or Vinayaki is identified as Ganesha's Shakti. Here she is elephant headed Image
and has the ability to remove obstacles.

Vinayaki is sometimes also seen as the part of the sixty-four yoginis or the matrika goddesses.

This places her as the ninth Matrika. Traditionally seven matrikas are mentioned. But the list seems to be extended to accomodate Mahalaskmi Image

RUDRAKSH🙏🏻🔱

The Rig Veda states -
“Rukha Dravyati Iti Rudra.”

‘Rukha’means ‘misery’and ‘Dravyati’ means to ‘eradicate.’
Rudra is the one who eradicates misery.

In other words, Rudra transforms tears of sorrow into tears of bliss which is represented by the Rudraksha.
In the Svetasvatara Upanishad, the supreme consciousness (Brahman) is identified with Rudra.

He is not just the destroyer, but the Supreme Being himself. ‘Rud’ means “to cry” and ‘Ra’ is the ‘light,’ the divine consciousness, pervading the whole cosmos.
and aksh (अक्ष) means 'teardrops'
When any being experiences divinity, the floodgates of the eyes open, leading to tears of joy. Rudra is that consciousness that brings tears of love, bliss, and gratitude.
