So Mr Johnson wants to stay on as PM even if he’s kicked out as Party leader.

Typical of the desperate solipsist.

But he has a point.

The Party can go hang, if he can command a majority in the House of Commons.

How would he achieve that?

Given how distrusted & disliked he is: with a high degree of certainty, no way.

But imagine, just imagine, he had the integrity & insight to understand he’s been wrecking the country by pandering to an extremist minority (a majority of his MPs).

And that he has to stop it. /2.

If he ditched the extremists, & took around one third of his MPs with him to strike a deal with the opposition parties, he could be instrumental in creating a new government, right now, to save the country.

It’s pretty much impossible to see how he could remain PM. /3.

But he could dramatically turn the tables on his disastrous term in office so far, creating a worthy legacy.

OK, hilarious.

He isn’t remotely capable of any of that, emotionally or intellectually.

But the thought process is a good one. /4.

Among the remaining fraction of the Conservative Parliamentary Party still committed to constitutional government, fundamental rights & the security, prosperity & well-being of the country, there are some who could take a leadership role. /5.

And lead their like-minded colleagues to do the right thing.

Mr Johnson will, forever, have been a disaster.

There’s no good reason why the constitutionally sound MPs left in the Party should allow themselves to be dragged down further.

Still less allow the country to be. /6.

The Queen will invite the person able to command a majority in the House to form a government.

Mr Johnson’s right about one thing: there’s no need whatsoever for that to be the Conservative Party Leader. /7. End
