Kids today don't know how to build their own decks in CCGs anymore, do they?
I blame the internets. Cookie-cutter decks on the ladder in Kards.
Not that I'm complaining, I'm happily building around them. But where's the fun in playing cookie decks?
Create, play, tweak, refine and (often) discard. To me, that's the JOY of CCGs. You're seeing what works and is fun, with a lot of failure or cool near misses on the way.
if all you're doing is googling meta deck lists then you might as well just let a bot do it.
And the thing is, I don't think a lot of people realise it makes you easier to play AGAINST if you cookie deck
(unless the meta on the game is truly broken. Paging Hearthstone to the red courtesy phone).
Because when you cookie you don't learn the mechanics of WHY a deck works
You're either playing by rote ("always play X then Y") or completely dependent on certain combos.
And that makes you pretty easy to disrupt as an opponent.
It also means you haven't learned how to spot how non-cookie decks work and struggle to disrupt players like me.
Anyway.
TLDR: I'm really enjoying @KARDSccg. Speaking as an old school MTG player (Beta/Ice Age represent!) I'm finding it's mechanics and balance are letting me build some really interesting decks
Decks that then do nasty things to people playing cookie decks on the ladder 😆

The hardest part of helping Little Stray Kitty at the moment is not being able to explain to her that this is for her own good.
Once her kitty flu has cleared and no owner has come forward, we can get her to a vet then let her out.
Sad kitty. 😔
She's got toys, kitty YouTube, is enjoying watching the birbs from the window and we're spending time in the room with her.
But there's still periods of slightly sad meowing. She's a feral, outdoor cat and this is alien to her.
Ultimately, it's just two weeks (pre/post snip and vaccines) of restriction to make sure she has a better life for a long time, including getting her new limp checked/sorted.
But you can't explain that to a kitty who just doesn't understand why she's not allowed to leave.
His train nerdery seemed initially be a blessing for La Compagnie Internationale as they tried to sort out a route for their Orient Express, but...
...well. Things escalated quickly.
Read on... /1
So Compagnie Internationale seemed to have utterly lucked out.
Not only was Boris all "OMG YESSSSS" when they asked to run the Orient Express through Bulgaria, but he became one of their biggest customers, regularly booking out whole carriages for himself.
But Bozza wanted more
Soon, he was turning up in engine overalls and asking to ride in the cab, when he wasn't chilling in his private carriage.
Compagnie Internationale told train crew to let it slide.
Because:
1) He was literally King of Bulgaria 2) He was spending a TON of cash
There's a weird thing where TV companies just assume that they have some kind of magical right to your sources.
They slide into your DMs and are like: "hey. We're TV. We don't want to talk to you, but can you hook us up with all your research/source contact deets? Cheers. Bye."
I assume they think you'll be so in awe of the slightest connection to the tellybox that you'll just fawn and do it.
It's not the nineties. If I wanted to do a video about something I'd do it myself.
Or, ya know, you could pay me. My time isn't free.
It's very odd. I never really get that with big papers, who'll mostly want to chat to you or at least credit (excluding the Daily Fash who just nick all your stuff without contacting you anyway)
But TV production? They ask for everything and mostly offer nothing.
2022 goal: find an official tea partner for my streams. Other streamers are energy drink affiliates. I want to be a tea affiliate.
I just want to be able to say "today we are drinking this tea on stream" and drink different teas. Then have people be able to buy that tea with a discount code if they like the sound of it.
All I require is a regular supply of free tea. I'm easy. I'm a tea slut.
I mean don't get me wrong, I drink energy drinks as well. I'd just rather be in the pocket of Big Tea than Big Energy.
