It's so funny @seaningle headlines today ”IOC’s new transgender guidance criticised as unfair towards female sport” without Sean even mentioning over the last 9 Olympic games we have had a total of two openly trans women athletes compete one came dead last the other 37 out of 42.
@sean reports scientists warn that IOC’s new guidance – ”which states there is no need for trans women to lower their testosterone to compete against natal women – ignores the science on sex,”
Both @seaningle and the scientists are confused. The new ten point framework is not a participation policy for a single sport.
The IOC has put the onus on International federations to create transgender and intersex inclusion policies on a “sport by sport, event by event and discipline by discipline” basis.
Unlike the 2015 guidelines Policies will NOW need to be based systematic and rigorous research. Rightly so the onus is more clearly on the international federations to develop new criteria that align with their unique requirements and balance fairness and inclusion.
Yes sports can implement policies that assess disparities in strength, speed, endurance & physique of individual trans athletes under the new framework. Yes sports will be able to out athletes that show they have an unfair or unsafe disparity.
So many people are criticising what they don't understand here. So many deers. The IOC has committed to doing massive education after the winter Olympics. Ifs have no time limits placed upon them. The IOC have clearly said they won't override policies such as the @WorldAthletics
If @WorldAthletics fail to amend their polices to meet the new ten point framework they leave themselves open to litigation. The blanket T rules has been shown in court and accepted by the IOC damages the health of both XY intersex and XY transitioned women athletes.
Sadly @seaningle still doesn't get that There is no relationship between unaltered endogenous testosterone in males or females and sport performance. None.

I know. Surprising, right?
Also, there's complete overlap of testosterone values for cis males and cis females.

And guess what!

Low testosterone elite men are statistically OVERrepresented in elite male sport.

0.5% of ELITE male athletes were naturally below the average for cis female athletes.
& 25% of ELITE cis male athletes are below the current 10nmol/L cutoff for female athletes.
Wait!

This means that for ANY TESTOSTERONE POLICY you pick to exclude 'men' from women's sport WILL. NOT. WORK.

There will always be some elite cis males naturally below that level.
In fact, there is no clear biological list of features that allow us to even remotely cleanly separate men from women.

Chromosomes? NOPE

Testosterone? NOPE

Height? NOPE

Vo2 Max? NOPE

Weight? NOPE

Bone Density? NOPE
Let’s Look at height! A complete overlap. In fact, in the sample of 693 elite athletes, the shortest athlete was a man!

This kind of complete overlap between genders is true for any and ALL physiometric characteristics you can pick.
Second, the RANGE within a single sex is much much wider than the AVERAGE DIFFERENCE between sexes. Like, a LOT wider.
The difference between the shortest and the tallest woman will be in the area of FEET, but the average differences between men and women are measured by INCHES.

This is true for all physiometric characteristics.
I hope you can see a clear pattern emerging. The IOC have rightly recognized that Assessing any group of athletes as a monolithic group especially amongst trans athletes is flawed. Trans is an umbrella term many different body types & stages of transition.

End
Trangender athletes advantage Myth #101 She has a man's body, her bone structure and bone density gives her an unfair advantage.
1-

Research finds trans women that undergo HRT their hemoglobin levels reduce to the normal F range within just 3–4 months & their Vo2 Max in 4-6 months & their muscle reduces mass 9.4 % in just the first 12ms of T deprivation.

Pride Games is not just about celebrating Pride out on the sporting field!
Way before celebration of Pride there is an urgent need for all sports to develop programs & solutions to these problems to improve youth mental health, boost physical activity rates, & mitigate the negative influences of traditional gender norms.
Although there has been more progress on the issue of homophobia in sport, there was a LOT more work to be done on issues affecting trans people. Trans athletes in sport are being attacked by the likes of Trump even our PM @ScottMorrisonMP called us heavy handed in cricket.

Michael Phelps says sport ‘should have even playing field’. Tell that to everyone he’s swam against!

Phelps ”Lia is doping” Kirsti anti androgen treatment is a polar opposite to doping.

XX women don't have their endogenous T levels regulated and we know 13% have high T. Also XX are 6 to 10 times more sensitive to T than XY.
Male athletes with low at are granted a TUE for synthetic T.

Yes @MichaelPhelps if you suffered hypogonadism without a TUE even you would become unwell. ImageImage

@seaningle once again you speak to others about trans athletes & write about us trans athletes but you never engage with any of us trans athletes. Current T policy not only eventually removes any advantage it makes us extremely unwell beyond sport to rest of life.
So much agitations, distraught and misunderstanding after IOC announced its 10 point framework on Fairness, Inclusion and Non-discrimination.
But here’s why IOC’s recognition of damage done is important. Impacted athletes in position of vulnerability. Irreparable harm:
There are over 30 is and trans female athletes with historical harm… the reason this has all come about; it in direct relationship. Why it took 2 years.

Where was this edge in Tokyo @TraceyLeeHolmes where was this edge when the current T policy of the IOC damaged K Worleys’ health, where was this edge when the T policy put me in the ICU?
I suggest these deer's in the headlights forget the words trans, Hannah or Kirsti & google what the consequences to health are when an XY physiology experiences Complete Androgen Deprivation CAD, it premature aging it eventually kills you!

Athletes caught up in the IAAF/IOC policy on hyperandrogenism were required – in order to partake in sport – to undergo surgical and/or hormonal interventions unrelated to their health status.

@RogerPielkeJr does Ross Tucker support abandoning the TUE for XY male athletes that suffer hypogonadism & CAD? Exactly the same science as XY transgender and XY surgically transitioned women. Ross argues that androgen deprivation is only a minor condition. CAD almost killed me!
