Asifa ( 8 year old nomad girl) was kidnapped on 10 January 2018.
Her parents after searching on their own went to lodge report on 12th of January, one police official told she must have eloped with a boy.

Her body was found on 17th of January 2018 from nearby forest area.

Her legs were broken, Head crushed, Nails turned black & there were marks on her fingers,arms & other parts of body.
Later on investigation revealed that after gangrape she was brutally murdered.

On 17th of January, Talib Hussain reached Rassana and protested on main highway

to demand justice but adminstration succeeded in removing them from protest site & asked them to perform her burial.
The parents wanted to bury her body in local graveyard but local right wing hindu activists threatened them with violence if they were to continue with burial.

I along with my friends called some media houses to do story on rape and murder of nomad girl but almost everyone ignored our request and then we planned #JusticeForAshifa hashtag on twitter to raise this issue (we were about 12-13 people sitting in one room & tweeting)

Some of our friend who were part of Congress party helped us in our trend and somehow we succeeded in getting attention of some political leaders , intellectuals & journalists toward this case.
Next day we planned protests and candle march and fortunately

Legislative assembly of J&K was in session and Congress+NC members raised this issue in house to demand justice and somehow this case made headlines in newspaper.
In one of protest protesters was lathicharged & Talib was arrested but next day our protest forced government

to release him.
NSUI also planned candle light march to demand justice for her in every state and later on Shri Rahul Gandhi & Smt. Priyanka Gandhi also held March in New Delhi to demand justice for little angel.
Many intellectuals including Advocate @DeepikaSRajawat ,

Advocate @IJaising , Advocate Mobeen Khan, @Shehla_Rashid & many others joined and played their part in this fight.

BJP tried their best to save culprits & even marched holding tricolour in their hands but Smt @MehboobaMufti personally ensured that case headed in right direction

When chargesheet was filed Advocates in Kathua district protested against SIT, local media tried their level best to save culprits , Ikjutt Jammu gave call of economic boycott with Gujjar Bakerwals (nomads).

This crime was committed to instill fear among muslim nomads.

The plan was hatched by Sanji Ram (60 year old man) , His nephew & some police officials.
Sanji Ram was priest in local temple where she was raped and murdered.

Sanji Ram on 11 January told parents that she might have gone to some relative's home & police official who told

parents on 12 January that she might have eloped was also part of this conspiracy which was hatched on 7 January (according to investigation reports).

Whole ecosystem including police officials tried to de story evidences and media tried to save these monsters

BJP leader rallied for them.

Six Persons +1 Juvenile ( who along with police official Deepak raped her before murder) were convicted by court on 10 June 2019.

Her parents appealed for enhancement of their sentences which is yet to heard but Punjab & Haryana High Court

released SI Anand Dutta & Constable Tilak Raj (who were accused of evidence tampering) on bail.

Devilish & monstrous crime was committed to instill fear among muslim nomads.

Even after 4 family still awaits Justice

Those memories shiver down my spine.

I may have missed contribution of many people Including bollywood celebrities ( @ReallySwara & her team were first to raise this issue), media officials & other peoples who raised voice in this case even after getting so much trolling from RW IT cell.

May her soul rest in peace.
