"Election Integrity is never something you're done with." @ChuckDevore
@TPPF Election Protection panel with @TXsecofstate John Scott, @PILFoundation Pres. Christian Adams (@ElectionLawCtr), @Heritage election law expert @HvonSpakovsky. #PO2022
.@ElectionLawCtr said one of the biggest stories of 2020 was private funding of election offices. Millions, mostly from social media mogul Zuckerberg, disproportionally boosted Democrat turnout.
Scott says he worries distrust in the integrity of elections will discourage Texans from voting, hopes the 2020 election audit helps restore voters' confidence in the process.
🚨UPDATE on EPIC City, renamed The Meadow, from Collin County @JudgeChrisHill…
Collin County officials discussed the proposed EPIC City—an expansion of the East Plano Islamic Center (EPIC)—at a packed commissioners court meeting on March 31.
@JudgeChrisHill said he would not support a project that “violates Texas or federal law.”
The county administrator noted that if a plat “meets state and local laws, the county has a ministerial duty to approve it.”
@JudgeChrisHill In May, @GregAbbott_TX posted correctly that “no construction” was yet taking place on the development, which was/is still empty farmland, and INCORRECTLY that Texas had “halted any construction of EPIC City.”
The developers confirmed at the time that “NOTHING HAS BEEN HALTED.”
LIVE NOW... Texas Senate CONGRESSIONAL REDISTRICTING Committee is hearing PUBLIC testimony today on a Republican map that increases GOP partisan advantage from 25 to 30 of the state's 38 U.S. House seats.
SENATE REDISTRICTING Chair Phil King says 205 people testified during 4 preliminary hearings and 3,600+ comments have been submitted online.
Yesterday King invited back witnesses, including the entire Democrat Congressional delegation, who complained during previous hearings that no map was available. NONE showed up.
Attorney @TweetTonyMac asked visiting Judge Pruitt to dismiss @FrazierForTexas’ defamation suit against @DrPaulChabot under the TCPA, arguing elected officials are subject to public criticism and Chabot’s statements about Frazier are protected by the First Amendment. #TXLege
Attorney Chris Kratochvil argued that @DrPaulChabot’s statements about @FrazierForTexas being “convicted” of crimes and “dishonorably discharged” from Dallas PD were “once true” but “things changed.”
“All he had to do was shut up” after a plea bargain changed Frazier’s legal status, Kratochvil told the judge.
Visiting Judge Jim Pruitt now has 30 days to rule whether to dismiss the suit against @DrPaulChabot under the TCPA or allow it to proceed if he believes @FrazierForTexas made a prima facie case for his defamation claims.
Chabot was in court today.
Frazier was not.

Happening now... American Confidence in Elections: Preventing Noncitizen Voting and Other Foreign Interference
Watch:
"Noncitizens are, in fact, getting onto American voter rolls, and some of them are voting."
How? Most often through the motor voter process or third party registration drives, per testimony of @ElectionLawCtr ➡️ publicinterestlegal.org/wp-content/upl…
Adams wrote about the many criminal statutes that penalize foreigners registering and voting in the U.S.
"Are aliens voting? For sure, and it needs to be fixed."
