In 2020 China threatened Aix-en-Provence, a small town in France, for opening a Taipei Trade Office. The name of the office didn’t matter, China got angry anyway.
In 2021 China threatened Lithuania for opening a Taiwan Trade Office. The name didn't make any difference. China would get angry anyway.
In 2022 China is threatening Slovenia before they even open a trade office. Whatever the name will be, China will get angry, because that's what China does.

When you do what China asks for, China asks for more. And gets angry anyway.
The only way to stop China being angry would be to abandon Taiwan completely and let millions of people lose their democratic freedoms. Lithuania doesn’t want to do that, so China is angry.
China is trying to show strength by bullying Lithuania. But bullies are not strong.
If China was strong, China wouldn’t be spending time threatening to destroy the economies of Lithuania, Slovenia and Aix-en-Provence. China’s petty anger comes from weakness and fear. The EU should call China’s bluff.
The EU was born to resist authoritarianism. Lithuania is simply asking for the EU to do what the EU is supposed to do. China is testing the whole EU here.
