If you are a worker at significantly greater risk of contracting COVID-19 than the general public, and have evidence of a COVID-19 related illness, you may have an acceptable COVID-19 claim. Having test results at the time you file your claim may speed up claim adjudication (1/2)
Due to increased volumes, we will be prioritizing COVID-19 claims for workers experiencing a loss of income which may delay other COVID-related claims. Learn more: ms.spr.ly/6015ZFHqB#COVIDBC (2/2)
Thank you to everyone who's reached out so far with questions about COVID-19 testing. Workers who believe they have contracted COVID-19 through a workplace exposure are encouraged to report a claim to determine eligibility for workers’ compensation benefits. (1/3)
To determine whether the worker contracted COVID-19, our policy guides us to adjudicate claims on the best available evidence. WorkSafeBC will look at details such as whether the worker has a diagnosis of COVID-19, their symptoms, and their exposure history. (2/3)
Ideally, test results will be available, but if not we consider the available evidence & weigh that in light of all of the evidence provided by the worker & employer. Learn more here worksafebc.com/en/claims/mana… or we encourage you to contact us at 1.888.967.5377 M-F, 8am-6pm (3/3)
