FLASH: Lagos State Govt has suspended the operations of the Transport Union (NURTW) in Lagos Island particularly on Church Street, Eyin Eyo, and Idumota bridge indefinitely due to the recent clashes that crippled activities in Idumota axis of the state.

… caused by the activities of the union, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Hon. Oluwatoyin Fayinka meted out the ban to prevent further acts of violence at idumota, adding that the Lagos State Parks Monitoring Authority will resume at Eyin Eyo.
Fayinka further stated that the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) will station an Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) on Idumota Bridge to deter motorists from driving against traffic in compliance with traffic Rules and Regulations …
… and to enforce the suspension of the NURTW within the axis and simultaneously flush out the Oju Opake boys lurking along Plaza around Church Street axis.
Also suspended are the activities of the transport union at Church Street and John Street particularly Keke Marwa and Mini Buses (Korope).
The Transport Special Adviser added that the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in collaboration with the State Police Command will ensure Safety of lives in the area.

FLASH: In line with the on-going infrastructure development, the Lagos State Government will divert traffic on Dopemu Road in Agege area of the state by 10:00pm on Friday 21st January, 2022 for the rehabilitation and upgrade of Babajide Sanwo-Olu Road for a duration of 3 months.
The Commissioner for Transportation, @dr_oladeinde explained that the repair works will be executed in 3 phases adding that the first phase of the project will focus on Ipaja road to Adealu street junction which will last for 3 months.
Oladeinde assured that alternative routes have been mapped by the State's Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA to enable effective control of vehicular movement along the axis during the duration of the construction.
UPDATE: The Lagos State Government has announced that Marine Bridge will partially closed from tomorrow, Monday 17th January to Saturday, 2nd April, 2022 for Emergency repair works on the infrastructure.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Transportation, the Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. @dr_oladeinde stated that the partial closure was to allow the Federal Government carry out routine maintenance works on the bridge infrastructure.
He further explained that the temporary closure of the bridge is in two sections, Apapa Outbound, which will be repaired between 17th January and 9th March, 2022, and the Apapa Inbound section of the bridge scheduled between10th March and 2nd April, 2022.
