1: On 10/14/21, the Virginia Department of Education informs @LCPSOfficial deputy superintendent that it failed to include the 5/28/21 Stone Bridge assault in its annual DCV report as required by state law.
2: Note the date of the email - 10/14/21. That was three days after @lukerosiak's story on the two sexual assaults.
It looks like VDOE found out about the 5/28/21 assault from the Daily Wire story and was wondering why this wasn't in @LCPSOfficial mandatory DCV reporting.
3: Deputy Superintendent Ashley Ellis says the report was submitted on August 13 w/o the May 28 assault included b/c @LCPSOfficial hadn't been updated on the law enforcement investigation.
She acknowledges incident was reported to law enforcement.
1: The Loudoun County School Board CLAIMS there were things in special grand jury report that weren't in its own report from an "independent review" and that's why it didn't fire Superintendent Ziegler earlier.
Let's review some receipts⬇️
2: The "independent review" was announced on November 5, 2021 - one day after AG Miyares announced that he would investigate.
@ScottTaylorTV of @7NewsDC reported in January that the review was complete but would not be released to the public b/c of attorney-client privilege.
3: Repeated, but futile, demands were made at school board meetings to release the report.
26: The grand jury found almost complete lack of cooperation from LCPS and most on the school board. They were met with "obfuscation, deflection, and obvious legal strategies designed to frustrate the special grand jury's work."
27: The superintendent and school board were determined to obstruct the process, going so far as to pressure a teacher not to provide the grand jury anything. The teacher said that the LCPS lawyer "tried to shut her up" because "this won't look well for the schools."
28: Two school board members didn't show up to testify because the LCPS lawyer told them not to. The court gave them two hours to get there and was prepared to issue a capias warrant for their arrest.
They eventually showed up, with one saying it was the LCPS lawyer's advice.
🧵1: The Loudoun County Special Grand Jury investigating Loudoun's public schools has issued its report. However, the special grand jury has NOT be discharged per OAG release, so this story is not concluded. loudoun.gov/specialgrandju…
Here are some highlights from thereport ⬇️
2: The grand jury found that LCPS administration was looking out for its own interests, not the best interests of @LCPSOfficial. This led to a "stunning" lack of transparency and accountability by the admin which "failed at every juncture" with respect to the sexual assaults.
3: On May 12, teachers were very concerned about the student who would eventually sexually assault two girls in two different schools. One of the teachers in an email said: "I wouldn't want to be held accountable if someone should get hurt."
