The evidence of the many paths to the coup is mounting. We were told Jeffrey Bossert Clark refused to answer @January6thCmte questions and just left. But the transcript of the hearing is 50 pages. He didn’t just leave, you guys. Let’s look deeper 🧵👇🏻

Clark refused to answer questions claiming executive privilege that the president himself, through his legal advisor in Georgia Doug Collins (📌1), didn’t even claim. trump actually explicitly, stated he would ‘not seek judicial intervention to prevent [Clark’s] testimony.’

But Clark still refused to provide answers. Why?

It’s gotta be because he is in seriously deep s#it, he knows it, he exposes himself to significant legal jeopardy if he says the wrong thing, and the info he can share is the only hope he has of avoiding a life in prison.

You can see from the three excerpts above how his attorney is trying to protect Clark (because he knows he’s screwed) and is also trying to limit the scope of the @January6thCmte investigation into Clark’s activities (because he knows he’s screwed) and keep the door open to talk.

So because Clark refused to answer the @January6thCmte questions, they had to create a record for any court fight that may result of any criminal referral the committee would make. And they did vote to refer. What did the committee want to know?

The @January6thCmte wanted to ask Jeffrey Clark about an ODNI briefing on Chinese interference with Dominion voting machines?🤔

They wanted to ask about his draft letter to GA officials, if the WH helped write it, conversations with trump, and this is *super important*:

Beyond wanting to know about Bannon, Giuliani and Eastman, the @January6thCmte also wanted to discuss Gohmert v Pence. If you look at the details of that case, you will find co-plaintiffs were also false electors.👀

And they also wanted to ask about vote fraud advocate John Lott. Lott is a gun rights activist who trump hired for the DOJ and upon his hiring Lott said this:

“I took a job at the Department of Justice. I’m really not supposed to say more than that.”

📌1 was about Doug Collins being the lead legal adviser to the trump campaign in Georgia. You remember congressman Collins defending trump during judiciary committee hearings preceding the impeachment over a less than perfect phone call with Ukraine.

Now this same trump defender is the lead legal advisor to the trump campaign in Georgia during the time of another less than perfect phone call. This one with their Secy of state seeking 11,780 votes. What was his legal advice on that? Did he advise Meadows to travel to GA?

Even though he didn’t provide answers to the @January6thCmte, there is still much we can learn from Jeffrey Clark’s interaction with the committee.
